I've read the Brust novels. I like them in that "you really amuse me Brust-sama" way, but yeah. None of Brust's work tend towards anything deep or meaningful, and while fun, characterization generally runs thin. But his sense of humor is <3.

Some of the books look interesting, but I'm really interested by the KJ Parker series. It looks really interesting, and I might have to pick it up.
