See, I would agree that all those things are components of 'Chick Lit' but that doesn't mean that they're exclusive to only that genre of book. Just as a book full of violence, and blood and guts isn't necessary exclusive to say, Horror (or Crime or Fantasy or even some Classics). So, I think, perhaps I agree with you also.
Also, what 'ErrantBard' said in the list above could also be applied to Eragon by Christopher Paolini which is just appallingly bad, but I don't think would ever be called 'Chick Lit.' (Granted it is also YA, so it could probably be dismissed as that).
