Teethless smile

I be wisdom toothless. My mouth's all numb.

It went relatively well, apart from the part where dentist was always saying "Don't panick!" "Don't panick!" when I was like "I'm not panicking, I was just informing you that I am in pain right now. In a non panicky way."

So, is it just me or are we giving this whole ridiculous Open Source Boob project more attention than it deserves? I mean, the whole part where there's essays kindly (or more acurately righteously angrily) detailing why it is so wrong instead of just mocking the WTF-ness of it... wobble worthy. Like, it actually requires explanation?

AFAIC if people want to indulge in free boobs (or other part) groping party, more power to them! But a public arena like a convention of SFF/anime/whataveyou is not the place for it. Well, not unless it was the Boobicon, or something.

Ooh, ow, the wisdom teeth thing is no fun at all. I'm glad it went mostly well for you, though, and I hope you'll be un-numbed (but still pain-free) soon.

I think the 'project' wouldn't have attracted quite so much attention if the original post had possessed a different tone, and if the OP hadn't talked about doing it at other cons. Many feminist bloggers are also F/SF fans and convention attendees, and the idea of this spreading through the con circuit rightly creeped them out. And when people mentioned their concerns about possible problems with the whole thing, it seemed like a lot of them were being dismissed. Aaaand I've probably just proved your point by giving it yet more attention, right? Sorry.

I'm almost fully unnumbed and the pain is entirely manageable so far.

Yeah, the tone was very... peculiar (I didn't read the post to the end, though, way too disturbing). It would be entirely creepy if it extended, I agree totally, but could it? Could such an outrageous proposition be extended? That's kind of what boggles me. We actually need to say that? Are we giving it more legitimacy by bothering to respond? I don't know, mind you. I'm not that familiar with the American SFF con-going fandom.

Also, I hate to see post by people saying they won't go to cons now because they're scared. I kinda want to yell "no, don't abandon them this territory!" this is also because I kinda hate the idea of male and female fandom being segregated, doing their own things in their own space and hating each others.

(I gave it attention to in my own post so...)
