Judging by how Jayne couldn't keep his hands off Simon's birthday cake, he'd totally appreciate the cupcakes :D

Aw, poor thumbtack'd, volcano'd Mal -- everybody seems to love him, and in truth he's grown quite a bit on me as I've been rewatching some episodes, but, heh.

I've actually been reading some fanfic, but haven't made my way to River/Jayne yet... I have to admit, that sounds rather like a trainwreck -- though maybe they bond more during the movie?

(I need to get myself a Firefly icon...)

With Mal I think I just have an irrational antipathy to Nathan since I react to all his characters the same way.

I don't really read Firefly fanfics unless they're posted by friends anyway, I just like River/Jayne a pure aesthetic/funny way, it's the waif girl/brawny brute thing with a little spice of genderfuck - I admit it's something of a trainwreck, then again I like trainwreck. If you're curious [livejournal.com profile] curtana wrote some (at her fiction journal, they're probably filtered so you'd want to friend her) - and there were some a long time ago at [livejournal.com profile] 30_kisses, I think I have a link at my journal somewhere.... there it is!

And now, having checked them out -- those are good ficlets! And I can see the interesting dynamic, although it's a good deal sadder than I typically like my ships to be. Still, lovely -- thanks for the recs!
