Oooh i see now. Kawaii-loving fangirls. Now it makes sense.
I seldom vote for them either too, I admit. Thought I try to rate the icon ideas and techniques and general beauty more than the subject of an icon itself. I get annoyed at how lots of icons are all about pretty techniques and have no content, original ideas or outlook - as I already ranted to you about the humour contest ^_^

(I do like Dark Chii - well let me correct this - I like watching Dark Chii because any pretty girls with fetishist clothing goes straight to an area that doesn't stop by my brain to say "oooh sexy !" We all have our weaknesses ^_~ )

I'm more of a Yuzuki person myself. I think I liked Freya, but the Chii hate expanded to her. A shame, she's such a tragic anti-hero.

I think that happens to me with Yuuko's wardrobe. The woman is so ecclectic and elegant, unlike almost every CLAMP girl that likes clothes (Hokuto, Tomoyo, I love you, but... WTF at your outfits?)

*looks up who's Yuzuki* Err, I don't even remember the girl. Woah, I haven't read Chobit one year ago, and that's how much it marked me. Oh, well.

Oooh I love, love, LOVE Yuuko's style in general. She's so classy indeed. (gotta ask who made the "classy and sassy" icon too - wanna snatch it) And the whole attitude ! She's definitly my favourite clamp female character (stop me before i start shipping KujakuxYuuko) Tomoyo and Hokuto both had some very girly, "cute" taste, I love them both but not so much their taste in clothes. Yuuko dresses like one hell of a sexy woman. It's all the difference.
And let me rave again about the art deco love of xxxholic's art in general. <3 Makes me want to crossover Corto Maltese with it. Stop me, it would make no sense ! Oh, dear, except for how much it would make sense... Arggh.

Yuzuki is Minoru's one true persocon. The one with the pigtails and blueish hair.

Hell yeah! That woman has impecable taste <3 I don't know about Corto Maltese, so I'm free of the crack this time being.

Corto Maltese is a "gentillhomme de fortune", son of the "Niña de Gilbratar", an Andalusian Gypsy prostitute and of a sailor from Cornwall. As a child, a fortuneteller noticed he had no line of Fate. Corto took his father's razor and drew one for himself.
Corto wanders the first decennies of the XXth century, on the seven oceans, between wars and revolutions, chaos and romantism. He seeks treasures sometimes, or just watch and come along as others seek them. He has a knack for meeting cool women. Wether the Voodoo witch (three centuries old she said) called "Bouche Dorée", or young chinese revolutionnary girl. He is often seen in compagny of Raspoutine, a mad man who often tried to kill him and of whom he is nonetheless one of the only friend.
He often meets the occult, the dream-like, and the strange. In any case, it is always the atmosphere that stands out.

In my opinion, the Corto Maltese comic books by Hugo Pratt are easily among the very best of what this medium has had to offer (right there with Maus by Art Spielman, Gunnm, Akira, Sandman etc.)
