You love the bad, cocky, confident, charming ones. At least that's what I can tell by Sorata (charming), Sirius (cocky and bad?), Jaime (...there's only one him) and Shigure.

Well, Kara and Jaime remind me a lot of each other in some ways--brash, arrogant, natural athletes with some insecurities (Jaime's deeper in denial about his, IMO). And from what I know of Avatar, Toph fits this pattern as well. There are some exceptions to this trend (Anthy), but all of the characters I recognize are sure complicated, whatever else they may have in common.

Anthy fits a bit harder with those I listed there, yeah :) haha, I agree on Jaime, Kara and Toph's similarities (also Sirius). I love the cocky, brash, sarcastic kind of warrior characters lots.

Hm, I only know Toph, Sorata and Sirius. So I'd say cocky types, with deep unresolved issues who are scared to show their insecurities and try to work things out even if they're doomed.

From Anthy, Jaime, Shigure and Miles, I'm going to say - I see moral ambiguity, or the appearance of it. Anthy, Shigure and Miles make me think the manipulative type. Sorata is also someone who has a good idea of how people tick.

Some of the characters make me think of characters with strong personalities. Toph!

Most people did already notice the pattern, so I can only state it in slightly different words. Looking at the characters I know (Toph, Jaime L., Miles and Sirius) I think you like them with the ability to mock and with a slight dash of obsession (well, except Toph). :)

I'm not sure if it's about the ability to mock, but I do think a lot of the people there are funny and good with sarcasm (which is a kind of humour I love). Obsessive characters are always fun as well! :)

Hah, my first idea was "the ability to snark", but I felt it didn't hit the right mark either. "Mocking" is a lot harsher than "being sarcastic", I guess. Either way, yes, being sarcastic is a real common ground between those characters.
