If they phrased it that way -- asking me not to use that phrase -- without any explanation, I'd be pissed off. It's very patronising and I'm an adult and capable of making my own choices about the sort of language I use.

If instead of giving me a directive they politely commented explaining to me why they found the phrase upsetting, I'd listen and most likely not use it again.

Telling someone what they should and shouldn't say in their own journal is incredibly patronising and presumptuous, imo. Telling them that their choice of language hurts you is not.

Nope, they deleted my comment and removed me from their flist, without even a "goodbye madam!" x_x

I don't even think I would have minded them refusing (as long as they wouldn't have thrown a hissy fit, of course) but I thought that was a bit extreme as a reaction... >_>
