2. Firefox was really acting up, so I closed up all the many, many tabs I had, mostly to various fanfics that I was waiting to read for... err, when I felt like it. Actually, when I think about it, the shift of when I stopped reading fanfics much happened when I started using Firefox. Tabs killed by reading habits XD I kept links, of course, but I'll probably use them to read the fics themselves even less often than I was reading the tabs. It feels pretty weird to see my internet brower look so naked when I turn it on now.

I find it awesome that evenmarthawells is holding her breath for the final of Avatar. I love my flist. (NB: because she's on flist because she's a fantasy writer, of all things). Guys who don't know it yet, perfect time to jump on the bandwagon.
I went to watch Kung Fu Panda tonight. Found it quite disapointing with the exception of the first 5 minutes which were truly great. Pretty to look at and occasionnaly funny but too much of a Cliche Storm for my taste. I don't know why I keep listening to the hype and going to watch those Pixar&co 3D movies since I find them almost systematically pretty boring and way too formulaic.
Speaking of movie, a couple of weeks ago, I watched Prince Caspian which was simply bad. Very bad. And made no sense plot-wise. And was very disturbing morality-wise. (and made no sense). And I watched In Brusges, which kicked mighty ass. Seriously In Brusges is really freaking awesome and you should watch it. It's hilariously funny in a dark humour way, it's got an extremely clever storytelling which just clinches. Wonderful dialogues in the Tarantino style. And, unlike a Tarantino movie, not an outlook to violence that is disturbingly gratuous but actually rather insightful and well done. Add kickass acting and what are you waiting to watch it? And I also watched Kurosawa's Rashomon which was very interesting as well.
I'll go watch the new Slayers now.

You know, I've realised I tend to rant a lot of BSG on other people's journals & blogs & random places instead of doing it right here. I think it's because I have bashing in such a dislike that I'm afraid of doing it here, so I passive agressively do it elsewhere, which is all kind of stupid XD
So yeah, I've caught up on BSG and watched up to 4x10 Revelation. My thoughts are still kind of jumbly about it, and I'm not even sure if I liked it or not. I mean.... I liked moments, I liked scenes and images, there were a lot of extremely beautiful or enjoyable suches. But the overall narrative? I don't know what I think of it right now. I don't have the feel for it.

fandoms rambling

*dies laughing* I didn't do it on purpose, I swear!!
I've been in a bit more of a CLAMP-reading mood lately. Partially thanks toa_white_rain ♥ and now to mithrigil whom I've just discovered is a terifyingly good writer. Kinda make me want to see what else I've missed. Also, while reading Hikago (went on an archive binge there... ^^;; it's a lovely fandom to do that with because there's a lot of reclists everywhere, something I'd really missed when I was just getting into Avatar.), I saw that ontogenesis also wrote a lot of Kurogane/Fai fics and I'm wondering if it's worth catching up with scanlations in order to read them (pro:I hate being spoiled and I like the pairing, con:I don't enjoy reading manga on a computer screen much)
It also makes me want to start writing again and maybe finish all those WIPs *sighs*
2. I have not being good about reading Avatar fics, however :( and now I'm scared of spoilers and annoyed at the number of people who aren't careful about them. Hopely the rewatch is going to be fun; well I know it will be, it's Avatar ♥, but discussing it will be. Although it's already so much riddled with shipping wars I kinda want to scream and run away.

I've been thinking about femslash pairing sincebitterfig asked me for my top five f/f couples; and you know, I had some, but I kinda feel like I don't have any big femslash OTP like I do with maleslash and het (and genderfucked); and I'd like to! I'd love for a femslash pairing to be my main interest in at least one fandom. The closest thing I have is Blackcest which is a whole category of its own being 'cestuous. Utena would be the closest other opportunity, but I don't really like Utena/Anthy, and I like Juri/Shiori more as part of a triangle. Then there's Kushiel's trilogy which has a lot of potential, but I just don't feel like looking up fics for that fandom.
So, I'm asking for recs from my flist :) Can you think of a fandom with a big f/f ship which I may love?
I'm pretty open about media, although I tend to prefer stuff that are read (books and graphic novels) slightly better than stuff that are watched (TV series, movies and anime) - err, no video game though; and my kinks go to antagonistic pairings, mindfuck, eros/thanatos, etc. I think I tend to prefer canon or heavily subtextual pairings to fanon ones, but I certainly have nothing against crackpairings and there's always exceptions!
