1. My sister is currently studying to become a Yoga teacher, so she started taking me up as a student in order to practice - which means I've started doing yoga, which is actually kind of neat.

2. I've started being an editor for comistore_news. I was feeling guilty about not giving back to fandom in any creative way lately ;)

3. I love joining a LJ community that seems like it's going to be cool and welcoming to all people and without any bullshit tolerated; and then the first time I join in a discussion (because I think that Utena, of all things, is a feminist show) it turns into aggressive grudgewank filled with flames I've ever seen. Still waiting to see if the mods are going to do anything before I leave but it doesn't look good so far. So much for that XD

4. For... I think mainly flo_nelja, I've actually ended up posting some of my quick-impressions-as-I-on-comics-I-read on rpg.net on this :thread . Sorry I suck so much at updating my lj thse days >_> (ideally I should crosspost or something).

I also sent an email yesterday. I'm just baffled at the lows the thread went overall; especially in a comm that's supposed to be, err, not about that sort of shit.

Admittedly I can't claim much moral high ground there after reading back realizing that I compared misgendering to being called a fantwit. Well done self. But any contribution besides a sincere apology to winterfox for fucking up her thread was pretty useless at that point so I didn't bother with feeble attempts at explaining myself.

I appreciate you stepping in for Alana, by the way. We'd both decided to just pull out of the discussion with Gisei by that point so the continued harassment was just...not cool.

I'd say burn it and forget it, but there were a few redeemable conversations in there. Far, far away from the grudge wank.

I've seen Gisei around a few other comms (sf_drama, of course, and bad_rpers_suck), she seems to maintain that same argument style. Keep responding forever and a day, even if there's nothing redeemable left to wring out of the thread, do the 'bb <3' thing or patronizingly tell them to go back and read what she said, and just be over the top confrontational. It makes it really frustrating when I agree with her in spirit, just wish she'd tone it down a bit.
