new community about books

I've wanted for a long time to create a community about discussing of books, I'm finally doing it now :

booklog_sff

The concept :
- people nominate books they want to discuss
- we vote in order to chose two of them
- we get time to read or re-read them
- then we discuss them, and make fun/silly polls about them
- and we start over

So if that sounds fun to you join, and pimp it to your friends ;)

If it sounds very fun to you, I'm looking for people to help me moderate it ^_^;.

Okay, so different kind of tasks I see :
- basic moderating to prevent wank & trolls
- posting reminders and other calendar related posts to keep things running. Deciding of the calendar in the first place.
- animating the discussions as such (posting specific topics, questions, polls, reading the discussions to pick up on the themes which are interesting to re-ask to whole community about, etc.) - that's the part which do require reading the books

I can do the basic moderation and help you with the calendar. I think the timeline you have posted for the next month sounds fun, and we should see if it works out for the next time. I can post the reminders for the timeline you proposed.

Perhaps, we can alternate for the discussion, depending on the books and if we have time to read them. (I might probably not have access to all English books.)

If you have the time, the best would be to be in charge of one of the two books each. But yeah, there's always the question of access and of taste ^^

Wow the days really have been running together for me, didn't realize today was the 27th! XD I meant to ask earlier, what kind of questions we should start off with. Just simple first impressions types or go immediately to deeper questions. I'm on aim and such if you wanna talk more.

I think it would be best to start with some very generic question, and then to go into specific stuff. I was thinking to start with a post that asks about the generic impression (what did you like? What did you not like?), then either go on to specific aspects on the following days (one about the characters, their characterization, how sympathetic or not they were...; one about the setting, worldbuilding, magic system etc., one about the plot and pacing, the believability of it etc. etc.) - or to use up ideas which may show up in the discussions of the first post, quoting them back as new subjets of posts.

I'm not sure if that's clear ^^

If you prefer to have me launch the discussion I'm okay with that as well. Or you can go whenever you want.
