People who have been tagged must write their answers on their blogs and replace any question they dislike with a new question formulated by themselves. Tag 8 people. Those who are tagged cannot refuse. These 8 people must state who they were tagged by. You cannot tag the person who tagged you. Continue this game by sending this to 8 other people.
Because, ya know, if you don't do it when you were tag you will be cursed to a life of misery and unhappiness. In 2002, John Doe didn't continue the meme and the next day the Fire Nation invaded his home.
1. You have 50 dollars in your pocket. What do you do with it?
Change them for euros.
2. What is your most guilty pleasure?
Guilt is the is the mind-killer. Guilt is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my guilt. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the guilt has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
3. Outdoors or indoors?
Depends of the activity. And of the weather.
4. Are you confused as to what lies ahead of you?
Entirely. I'm just flailing trying to look at anyplace but ahead, really.
5. Where do you see yourself in five years?
See above. I have no fucking idea.
6. Which is more blessed: loving someone or being loved by someone else?
Loving someone. Being loved by someone else that you don't love sucks, loving someone who doesn't love you does too, but is better.
7. What's your theory on dating?
Theory? It's not something I write about. It's not really something I do either, not right now. Hmm. I wish I lived on Bujold's version of Beta Colony, how's that for a theory?
8. What is the one thing you love most in life?
Being able to see the wonder in life. Also reading.
9. Is there anything that has made you unhappy recently?
My own suckiness, mainly. And my parents' tendency to yell at each others and at myself. And the fact that fixing my shower is apparently going to take more than 6 months.
10. What do you want most in life?
Enough money to eat and buy the books & DVDs, I want, enough free time to enjoy them, a job that doesn't make me unhappy, to be able to write, good friends, not making anyone else unhappy. That about covers it.
11. If you could pick between being a good singer or a good dancer, which would you choose?
Huh? I don't know. Either would be nice. Maybe dancing has more day to day uses and I like dancing better anyway (even if I hardly do either).
12. If you found out that your best friend is going out with your boyfriend/girlfriend, how would you react?
I would be very mad at them and feel betrayed and would probably cut all bridges.
13. If you could change anything, would you?
To what? To whom? About what? Well, yes. I would. The world's not exactly perfect, is it?
14. What kind of person do you think you are?
I'm an intellectual person, I like thinking things over, experiencing things, observing and making conclusions. I'm not very proactive. I like finding joy in things. I'm not cruel, but I won't go out of my way to be kind.
15. Do you believe in something higher than humankind?
I'm agnostic.
16. Which fictional character could you see yourself marrying?
I'm not into marriage, even with a fictional person. Oh, alright, John Aversin. Because I'm a geek who likes people even geekier than myself. And who kill dragons. Although we'd have to have a talk about pigs.
17. Would you give your whole heart in a relationship?
No.
I'm too distrusting for that and I don't think that love is the priority in my life.
18. Do you have a motto? If yes, which one?
I do actually : Apprendre, Comprendre, Surprendre. It's even in French, look how cool I am!
19. What type of friends do you like?
The kind who doesn't backstab you and are highly tolerant to my own failings as a friend, who aren't snobbish, snotty, hypocritical, and not too selfish. People who share my geeky interests and with whom I may have interesting discussions. People who are slightly crazy and with whom I can chill out being crazy too.
20. Do you have an all-time favorite song?
Hallelujah, as sung by Jeff Buckley.

Who is this man? It sounds like I'm missing out on something quite intriguing here!

The book's Dragonbane by Barbara Hambly, followed by Dragonshadow, Knight of the Demon Queen and Dragonstar, but Dragonsbane can be read as a standalone (the others cannot though). They're very cool books because the main characters are John Aversin, who is a lovable, dragonslaying geek; his lady love Jenny who is a fourty-something, mother of two, not-very-pretty witch, and Morkeleb, who is my favourite dragons of all fictionnal dragons.
Jenny, Ista and Catelyn Stark, they're the only middle-aged heroins there is in fantasy that I know (not counting Cordelia cuz that's SF). Ista pwns them, but Jenny's not far behind.

Yeah, not a lot of middle-aged women in fantasy, period. Discworld has some awesome older females -- I love Sybil Ramkin, and am very fond of Nanny Ogg, though I'm not sure whether either of them qualifies as a full-fledged heroine; Nanny might, I guess.
I've only read Curse of Chalion from that universe so far, and I didn't care for Ista much as a person -- I thought she was an awesome and rare character to have (and I thought of her as Cordelia-gone-too-far, but now that you mention Catelyn, that's another good comparison). Haven't read Paladin of Souls yet, but I expect I'd like her better there -- it's certainly interesting to see where a character like that, with that kind of background, can go, and how she will be, once the Curse is lifted.

You totally have to read Paladins of Soul to fully appreciate Ista. That book's the reason I love her so much.
