If you like, comment & credit

I like making quote icons ^^ If there's a quote from The First Law you want me to iconize, just ask away.

I don't even know what this is, but I'm taking #5 for possible future use, because I can think of a lot of situations in which it'd be appropriate.

I think "enemies" is mispelled in #6? Unless it's supposed to have two "n"'s.

it's a fantasy series, very fun one (if one likes dark humour).

Enjoy! :D

They are good icons, Abercrombie certainly managed to write quite a few memorable quotes.

yeah, I'm pretty fond of his writing this way.

I might drop Joe an email and tell him about this. OTOH, it is the sort of thing that massively inflates his ego, which doesn't need any more help ;-)

*giggles* Think of it as a scientific experiment in how big an ego can grow?

With Abercrombie, I don't think there are any limits as to how big it can grow. That's why we need to get Peadar to come along to the July meet so we can fuss over him and make m00bs jealous. "First Law is SO last year, it's all about The Inferior now!" :-)

Is that the new cool, hyped novel? I should be paying more attention. What's it like?

Pretty good. It's more SF than fantasy and involves cannibals and giant sphere-shaped spaceships with lasers. Actually, that sounds really lame. It's good though, and I think it's just about to come out in paperback.

The author, Peadar O'Guilin, is the latest addition to the BwB Authors' Club. He's a pretty cool dude and everyone got on well with him at the Galway meet. He's in my LJ friends list as peadarog, and his LJs usually have pretty good tips on writing.

He, just noticed the first review on Amazon is by someone strangely familiar ;-)

I'm gonna take your words on it being good, but looking at that synopsis really doesn't appeal to my taste O_o; It sounds like Helliconia except even more boring... >_>;;

Not even remotely close to Helliconia. If I get it back in time (it's still in Ireland) I'll lend you my copy at the London Meet :-)

Once more lovely icons! *fangirls* :)

I love the background style, especially of the 'beloved of the moon' one. Quite suitable for a quote from a madman referring to another.

The 'other way round' italics (no clue what the technical term is) of the 'too realistic' one adds a nice touch.

My favourite is the 'White Dow' one. Maybe my favourite quote of the series, and nicely done with the simple font and the black/white.

You win at icons, we must be realistic about that :)

Book too, not series. As much as I love Black Dow, there are more awesome quotes.
