Hmmm a few. Like, for example I'm not as crazy of Sokka as everyone seems to be. I think he's a cute kid, but not MADE OF AWESOME or anything. His romance with Yue was very badly done, his romance with Suki was badly done until they were an actual established couple. I kind of hated that Toph had a crush on him (but loved the Suki/Toph moments lol)
speaking of ships, I don't like Aang/Katara at all. I think Aang is kind of too young to be shipped with anyone anyway, and though I can buy him having a crush on Katara I really can't buy a 14 yo girl reciprocating with a 12 yo boy - it's just... ewww, especially if portrayed as true love with kisses and all. The one in the finale made me gag. And it felt like it treated Katara as a reward for Aang without attention to what she might want for herself (not that I ship Katara with anyone else...)

Not a controversial issue at all, but I think Zuko is very similar to Saionji in more than a few ways, especially early Zuko in s1&2. Someone was making a walk through translation of that Utena game which had a whole bit at a tea shop; which prompted me to imagine Saionji visiting Iroh's teashop and complaining to him about stuff while Iroh advices :D

I'm not sure if that's controversial but I find it really creepy that some people ship Touga/Utena and Saionji/Wakaba. Also I strongly dislike Shiori bashing (and Anthy bashing though i saw much less of it); i don't think she deserved what she got at all.

Although I will concur that Katara did end up feeling like a prize, and after everything that happened, it definitely doesn't sit well with me. But I will admit that I didn't even notice the first time around o:

Given that I hate and avoid football at all cost, pretty much all my opinions about it are controversial. For example, why are people even posting about it? ARGH. *flees in terror*

About Slayers? I'm not entirely sure what counts as controversial in the Slayers fandom. Hmm,I actually like S3? Couldn't make through Evolution-R somehow? I ship Zel/Amelia? I like every characters?... can't really think of anything that sounds controversial enough.
