I've finished reading The Question (the O'Neil run).

Overall, I found it very good. Some of the stories really hit that sublime streak of... I dunno how to call it exactly, looking at the absurdity of the world, but without having it be reduced by the absurdity. In a way it reminded me a lot of Mushishi (which is an anime which has absolutely nothing in common with The Question besides giving me that feeling). Not quite every stories do manage this; and some just don't have aged very well. The whole zen/taoist martial art gimmick should annoy me but miraculously doesn't. Shiva is awesome; and Myra is a very solid supporting character through out (Tot isn't bad either). The humour was probably one of the thing that truly made it great.
Though by the end, it tends to feel a bit gratuitously grimdark in an unpleasant way (especially the Quaterlies, which struck me as frankly superfluous).

It's amazing and amazing and thank you so much for giving them to me. Myra and Shiva have all my love. Myra's ending made me tear up with awesome, and I think that she's the character whose development is the most interesting (I still love you Vic, but Myra is a character after my heart of hearts). Also: praying to the Lady Shiva. And Shiva having Cass-reactions.

I haven't read the Quaterlies yet though, only the first one.

whee! I'm glad you loved it :D Myra really is a great character, very human and fucking brave at the same time. And yeah, Shiva is &hearts.

For the annuals, I dunno if you could, but there were some additionnal things I had to put download and figure out in what order to read them cuz there were a lot of crossovering. (also had Dinah's first meeting with Shiva which was rather fun)

The Vic Sage Question is one of my top 3 favorites, but you're right about the grimdark stuff. Sometimes I prefer the DCAU treatment of the character, obviously as influenced by Rorschach as Rorschach was by the original Ditko version of The Question.

I've only heard about the DCAU version (which does sound fun!)
