Movies that come to the rescue mashup by sleepyskunk
ALL THE SUPERHEROES MOVIES. Or at least A WHOLE LOT OF THEM. Including some very bad and cheesy and old ones; but put together in a way that fills you with joy and enthusiasm for the whole genre of super. Just a very fun and dynamic vid.
Hollow Heroes by castor
Capturing the darker and edgier side of super movies. Very nicely done and atmospheric.

You how fans sometimes ask "why do they keep making origin stories?"; well this is why. A gorgeous, rivetting vid capturing the super hero journey with Ironman, Captain America, Hulk & Wolverine.
X-Men
The Boy with the Bubblegun by
kaydeefalls
I suppose it's sort of weird that my favourite Magneto focussed fanvid is a XMFC one given that's hardly my all time fav version of Erik, but this vid is so perfect, honest and brutal and with a lot of wonderful layers to the lyrics.
Rolling in the Deep by

Pretty awesome Xavier/Magneto vid that uses both the XMM trilogy and XMFC and really works at uniting them (which I don't think is easy given that XMFC just doesn't work that well with XMM XD).
The X-Men at the Gay Bar by
loonylupinlover
Funny, dancey vid with great timing. There is a lot of bars/partying in XMFC!
Dixons Girl by
sabrina_il
A cool XMFC vid focussing on Emma, Angel and Mystique.

A great ensemble vid from all X-Men movies, mainly mutants powers being cool :D
A fake title sequence for X-Men First Class, done before the actual release of the movie. It's very well done.
X-Men the Musical by ???
Magneto and Xavier from the X-Men animated series singing a accessorised version of Defying Gravity, despite the crappy quality of the video and not that good quality of the vidding, it doesn't get anymore perfect than this concept wise.
Ironman
Handlebars by Deejay
For all that this song has been overvidded, and that this vid is a little bit overly literal at times, it still feels like the best character exploration of Tony in Ironman and i love it.
Thor
Blue Veins by
turquoisetumult
A beautiful character study of Loki, and of his start of darkness.
Run Loki Run by
stephantom
Loki and Thor's relationship from Loki's point of view.
In Your World by
caramarie
Err, same summary as above, really.
Set Fire To The Rain by
talitha78
Okay this one is about Loki and Thor's relationship, but there's a twist, it's from Thor's PoV. I know, would have never seen it coming either.
I just had sex by mresundance
The hammer is his penis.
I know, I know, but it's hilarious, okay?
Avengers
You're Never Coming Back by
caramarie
Loki in all his manipulative bastard glory. Oh, yeah.
Watchmen
Glass by

Gorgeous encapsulation of the whole movie.
Brand New Day by
fahrbotdrusilla
A Veidt/Blake vid. Of a sort. I find it hilarious.
Smallville
Paranoid Android by
bop_radar
A character study of Lex Luthor. I never actually watched Smallville, but watching this vid always makes me want to.
I kissed a girl by
bop_radar
Funny vid. The official summary is "Clark experiments with heterosexuality".

Date: 24 June 2012 01:08 am (UTC)I'm not a big Smallville fan; tried to watch it because a BNF I love made a great Tom McRae vid to it (will have to search and see if it's still online) but it's just so...dull, on its own. Has great set up, beautiful characters, and somehow, I can't sit through a full episode. {shrugs} (especially when Lex Luthor, who has an Alexander the Great obsession - which I can relate to - shows this gaudy piece of shit costume jewelry off as 'an authentic breastplate of Alexander's' and just like, really production crew? You can't google and fake something accurate? ok)

Date: 24 June 2012 01:22 am (UTC)I don't actually... want to watch Smallville. I know it's bad and cheesy and it would bore me to tears. But everytime i watch this vid, it momentarily deludes me into thinking i should watch it. It's that awesome a vid.

Date: 24 June 2012 09:41 am (UTC)I've watched Smallville. All ten seasons of it. There were both awesome and horrible episodes, both interesting and boring ones. Seasons I liked and seasons I didn't. Overall, I really enjoyed it. But that's largely because I watched it with a friend (it took us two years?). I suppose that would make anything fun. Even the bad episodes (and there were lots of them) become "better" when you can mock and cringe and laugh with someone else. That definitely improved my experience of the show. ;) At some point it even became kind of addictive. (Like the kind of epic badfic that's not too bad and you can't quit it because it somehow keeps pushing your buttons.) But watching the show on my own? I probably wouldn't have done it.
