1. Who is your favorite singer/band and what genre of music are you most
into?

My favourite singer is, hand down, Tori Amos. It was love at first hearing when I first listened to Under the Pink. I've been addicted since then.
I'm not sure there's one peculiar genre of music I have as a favourite, I do like to listen to all kind of stuff. Mostly rock, I guess, but I'm not adverse to other genres. Except for metal, I don't like metal.

2. What homosexual couple has touched you the most?

VerlainexRimbaud OTP forever !

Seriously, I think they were my first slash ship ^^ Tragic, romantic, dark and violent, what's not to like ?
And I love Verlaine's poetry, it's touched me deeply all throught my teenage. I like some of Rimbaud's poetry too, not all of it (it can be slightly too pretentious for my taste) but some poems are just gorgeous.

3. What are your favorite anime and/or manga of all time and why?

Gunnm (aka Battle Angel Alita) It was one of my first manga, and is still a favourite. Excellent plot, story, design, characters. Science Fiction world deeply fascinating. It's just an excellently made manga and I have a soft spot forever for it.
Maybe if Tokyo Babylon was better drawn it would have stolen this place in my heart ;) but i'm not sure.

4. If you had a chance to direct a live action version of any anime/manga series, what would it be and who would you cast?

Humm good question. I seldom play the 'who would you cast as' game, so this is going to be difficult. And it's weird to think of a live action anime without asian actors, but my knowledge of japanese actors certainly doesn't allow me to cast them !
I think i would like to do X, just for the appeal of all the magic and esoteric in it. But I did try and I can't cast anyone for the X characters O_O; sorry ! I just don't know enough actors ! At all !

5. How did you first get into anime?

Oh, dear ! I don't know !
See in the eighties when I was a little kid there were an insane amount of japan cartoons on French TV. Way more than any other kind. Good stuff. I grew up watching things like Cobra, Albator, City Hunter, Cat's Eyes, Ranma 1/2, Kimagure Orange Road, Saint Seya and many, many others. So when I was a little bit older, early teenagehood and the animated movies like Ghost in the Shell, Porco Rosso and Grave of the Fireflies started to hit the movie theater, it was very natural for me to go watch them. And I can't even remember for how long i've been reading mangas (and I usually just read them at the stores, i very seldom buy them *coughs*) except that Gunnm was one of the first one.
I generally prefer mangas to anime too. I'm not rich enough to buy animes and discovered Bit Torrent only recently ^_^

6. What languages can you speak? What languages would you like to learn?

I speak French, English. I took Spanish as my secondary language in High School but I deeply suck and barely can speak it. I took also Latin but that's... *shrugs*
I'd love to learn lots of languages, japanese, hebrew, arabs among other things.

7. What does "etrangere" mean?

It means Stranger (and it's a female form). I took that name from a book where Stranger was the name of both a god among seven, and the horse of one of my favourite character because I thought it'd be funny. I think it suits me - I always feel like a stranger in a group.

8. What yaoi anime have you seen and yaoi manga have you read?

I don't think I've watched any yaoi anime. Yaoi manga i've read, well, there's Fake (up to tome 3), one I can't remember the name which is being released currently in France, Zetsuai which I thought was boring, New York, New York which is a sweet kind of Shounen Ai.... in scanlation several Kaori Yuki ones like Boys next door. Do Count Cain count as shounen ai ? Yami no Matsuei... I think that's pretty much it. Oh ! And Lawful Drugs, how could I forget Lawful Drugs, and, ya know just all those Clamp mangas full of shounen ai ^^
Yaoi is something I've become interested in rather recently.

Thank you for your questions I had fun answering them ^^

Those were cool questions. *cries* My questions were inferior.

...>>; But, anyway...

I agree with you that an "X" live action movie would be fun. The "Tokyo Babylon" one had me in tears laughing, but I'm sure it could have potentially been much better on a higher budget and with modern special effects technology.

I'd like to see "Yami no Matsuei" made live-action. With Hyde of L'Arc~en~Ciel as their Tsuzuki. After that, just more random Japanese people. >>;

I'd love to see it *jealous* I don't think I've ever seen a live action movie adapted from a manga before, really !

I'd like to see "Yami no Matsuei" made live-action.

Oh, yes ! That would be cool too. Thought I wonder which arc they could adapt ?

With Hyde of L'Arc~en~Ciel as their Tsuzuki. After that, just more random Japanese people. >>;

I wish I knew who this was XD

Hyde (http://j.kicks-ass.net/lin/Larc/gallery/Hyde.jpg") is the lead singer of the band L'Arc~en~Ciel. They are-- so interesting. XD;; They are so annoying, but their music is addictive. I both hate and love their songs. One of my favorites is "Ready Steady Go", the opening theme for "Fullmetal Alchemist". They also do the opening theme of both "Yami no Matsuei" and the "Rorouni Kenshin" movie.

The "Tokyo Babylon" movie is hilarious. I can't even put into words how funny it is. XD;;

Could you recommend some of her best songs? I only have heard Cruel. XD

VerlainexRimbaud OTP forever !

Where are they from? And those are the best elements! Whoo hoo!

Gunnm (aka Battle Angel Alita) It was one of my first manga, and is still a favourite.

I haven't heard of that one either. XD;;;

Maybe if Tokyo Babylon was better drawn it would have stolen this place in my heart ;) but i'm not sure.

*laughs* Well, it is an older manga. XD But the story is what makes it for me. ^___^

Humm good question. I seldom play the 'who would you cast as' game, so this is going to be difficult. And it's weird to think of a live action anime without asian actors, but my knowledge of japanese actors certainly doesn't allow me to cast them !

Me too! It's hard picking actors to play the roles.. makes me wonder about the live action EVA movie. XD

I grew up watching things like Cobra, Albator, City Hunter, Cat's Eyes, Ranma 1/2, Kimagure Orange Road, Saint Seya and many, many others.

Aaaah! Damn America! I wish I grew up watching stuff like that.. but nooooooooooo......

Yaoi is something I've become interested in rather recently.

My friend got me into yaoi.. well, it was the first time I was exposed to something more than kissing or embracing. XD;;; Because of her, I've seen so many yaoi: Ai no Kusabi, Legend of the Blue Wolves, Level C, Kizuna, Lesson XX, After School in the Teacher's Lounge, Bad Teaher's Equation, Boku no Sexual Harrassment, FAKE, Mirage of Blaze, YnM, Zetsuai, Gravitation, Earthian, Fish in the Trap, Nightwalker, Fujimi Orchestra... and some other ones I downloaded which I can't remember the titles to because they were boring >_>

As for manga.. hmm.. all of FAKE (one of the best!)... Gravitation.. CLAMP's works of course XD;;; But of course, there's a distinction between yaoi and shounen-ai. XD *laughs* I have all these scanslations that i should read... so lazy. There's this one yaoi manga I want to get called Kimisae Ireba. I've only seen a few scans but the whole "Daisuki... daisuki" scene got to me XD;;; I want to get Kiznua as well. I still need to get YnM.. I don't think I'm going to get the English release. I might just get everything in Japanese >_>... But what I really want are the Mirage of Blaze novels but nooo can I find them? Of course not. >_<

/rant/ sorry!!!

several Kaori Yuki ones like Boys next door. Do Count Cain count as shounen ai ?

My friend loves Kaori Yuki, so I know a little bit about her work besides Angel Sanctuary. I never finished reading Boys Next Door... and I think Count Cain counts... I should ask her. XD

Verlaine & Rimbaud ? Errr... 19th century french poets, they are *cough* Sorry, shouldn't have assumed you'd known them.
Verlaine is one of my favourite poet, he met Rimbaud the young genius, eternal symbol of the rebellious teenager, left his fiancee and they went touring together across France, Belgium and Englang, until following an argument Verlaine shot Rimbaud. Verlaine was imprisonned. Rimbaud survived, but didn't last long as a poet afterwhile, he travelled to the colonies and finished his life ten years or so afterwhile as a smuggler I think.

I haven't heard of that one either. XD;;;
Oh, that's too bad. I highly recommend it, either the original serie of 9 volumes, or the new one / sequel with an alternate ending that is being written now (Gunnm Last Order)

*laughs* Well, it is an older manga. XD But the story is what makes it for me. ^___^

*nods* It's an amazing tale, and the way the themes are woven into it is amazing. It's very dark without underlining it all the time, and much more deep than appear on surface.
But Gunnm is also an early nineties manga XD

and some other ones I downloaded which I can't remember the titles to because they were boring >_>
*takes notes* I need to check on all those ^^ !
You're so lucky to have watched so many ;)

Aaaah! Damn America! I wish I grew up watching stuff like that.. but nooooooooooo......

Hey ! there has to be some adventages to live in France ! anyway, nowadays, US have much more animes on TV than we do, time have changed :(

I still need to get YnM..
I love that manga ! highly recommended, it's very Clamp-like in a way.

My friend loves Kaori Yuki, so I know a little bit about her work besides Angel Sanctuary. I never finished reading Boys Next Door... and I think Count Cain counts... I should ask her. XD

Angel Sanctuary is actually the one I could never get into XD maybe it's because I'm not very fond of incest themes. But I do love Count Cain especially, grim fairy tale and victorian creepiness is a must ^^

Wow! Real life people! That sounds so interesting. ^.^ And sad ;_;

Well, I prefer the original, and they usually only play that stuff on the International channel. If it's on basic tv or on cable, it's usually edited and the dialogue is changed a lot... at least they're learning though with the more mature anime they show on Saturday nights. The dubbing isn't too bad. XD But I never really have an incentive to watch them since I like the the originals...

I still need to get YnM..

Yeah, I've read scanslations and translations. I would love to get my own copies some day. XD

Yeah, the incest at first was like.. um ok.. >_> but once you knew who they actually were and what happens... I don't know if you could call them brother and sister anymore. Count Cain sounds interesting. XD
