1. What fandoms do you generally read fanfiction for?
Tokyo Babylon, X/1999, CCS and YnM. Any fic by a writer I really like if I know the work it's based on.
2. What makes you want to read/not read a particular fanfic?
It being written by a writer I worship, presence of my OTP, catchy sumary i guess, Recc of course.
3 - Are there any pairings you will almost automatically read/avoid?
Not really. I'm wary of incest but some writers are good enough to make me like it. I do enjoy crack pairing, and i can like any pairing as long as it's well written really. Since in my current fandoms I don't have any peculiar hatred for a character or a ship, all is ok. (I used to be wary of Spander when I was in Buffy fandom for exemple)
4 - Does the rating matter?
No.
5 - Do you look for fics by particular favourite authors?
Yes. ^_^ When I read a fics I especially like by a writer, I usually hunt down all their other fics.
6 - Are you more or less likely to read fics by people on your friends list?
More, lol. I usually always try to read fics by my friends when they're in fandom I know. (i seldom read when I don't know the context)
7 - What genres do/don't tend to appeal?
Too much waffiness that falls from sweet fluff into too much sentimantalism or cutesie. PWP where plot and characterization are really lacking (I make some exceptions though), non-con PWP I especially hate (read one rape fic with no other object than the sex once and it really disgusted me)
8 - How important is the fic summary in influencing your decision to read/not read that fic?
If I don't know the fic from anywhere, I guess it will influence me.
9 - Does it matter if you don't like the author as a person?
Not really. If someone is a good writer I don't really care wether they're a bitch/asshole, I'll want to enjoy it anyway. Good writing is like money, it has no odor.
10 - Do you prefer multi-parters, one-shots, drabbles, epics...?
All of the above ! I like a short, spot-on, sweet or chilling drabble. I love a beautiful crafted one-shot. I love a well plotted, well characterized multi-parter. Every idea has its own length.
11 - What sort of things will make you want to completely avoid a certain fic?
Pairings I don't like ^_^ (no i'm not contradicting myself, i don't have a current hated pairing, that doesn't mean I never do)
Fandom I don't know of.
Lots of mispelling and fangirl typos right in the summary, intro of the fic.
Warnings like "it's OTP but read it anyway pliz ^_^"
Cliche beginnings
Badly made paragraphs which make reading difficult
Screenplay style fics
12- Are there things that will make you give up on a fic once you've started reading it?
Being totally and utterly bored by it. Totally wonky characterization. Bad stereotypes or fanon I despise.
13. Where do you mainly tend to look for/read fics? (Eg ff.net, adultfanfiction.net, LJ)
LJ communities, Clampesque, ff.net, fic archives in general.
