salineaYesterday, watched Steamboy by Katsuhiro Otomo. T'was great. I loved steampunk, of course, so I'm easy to please by that aspect. And boy, were there a lot of pretty machines, gorgeous wheels and mechanism in this movie ! The themes were spot on for the usual steampunk - and very much what we usually see in manga too, they fit very well. It's interesting to see how the two "punk" genres of SF are well dealt with japanese manga and animations.
In a couple of month, when this will go out in the US, you people tell me if Scarlett O'Hara's entrance reminded you of Asuka's one (yes, from EVA) or if I'm alone with that ^_^
Thought I'd make a to-do list, maybe i'll help me actually writing them *snickers*
Hum... too many ideas. I need to actually sit and start writing them instead of getting more and more plans in my heads...

togakushishrine, yeah I better hasten it ends up today - One Eyed Man, a Seishirou fic for which I have images and thematic ideas but no plot. I need a plot.
- Ghost Stories : multi-parter light-hearted SeixSub. Written two chapters already, but need more. And I need to decide exactly wether I want to crossover it, and with what, or make some OCs.
- Fugue : a serie of very short vignettes about alternating Seishirou and Subaru's PoV set in the '99 Summer.
- Binding, Subaru's Tarot fic which has been in plan for monthes. Should I keep the plot I had started with or try another method to write it (first person maybe) ?
- Short untitled fic where I get Saya and Nadeshico to meet each others, as well as chibi Touya, Fuuma and Kotori.
- Still Waters, Arashi's Tarot fic
- Feather-weighted, Karen's Tarot fic
- Seafoam, Saya's Tarot fic
- Crossroad, Kotori's Tarot fic
- New World, a post appolaptic road fic. Not sure if i'll get on with that one as it got a survived-Rainbow-Bridge Seishirou >_>
- Fantasy, short Subaru musing between TB and X. Or maybe i just need to deal with those ideas in Binding...
- Shading, a fic where Subaru casts a spell to understand why Seishirou is how he is. Havok ensue. Very old idea and i'm not sure if i'll ever finish it.
- In the Dark (working title), another multi-parter one where i try my hardest to make Seishirou and Subaru get together, this time by making Seishirou's blind. Probably won't ever write it.

I'm working on a fic too. ^^ It's based on a dream I had and mixes my two favourite things in the world: X/TB and Edgar Allen Poe. Fun, eh?

Date: 23 September 2004 09:09 am (UTC)When i walk around (i have no car so I walk lot to go to subway etc.) I always have ideas and little scenarios in my mind, so I write a lot /in my head/ but when I plan to sit down in front of my computer and actually write it's much more difficult. That's one of the reason I got myself in fanfic and Live Journal, I want to aquire a self-discipline of writing in a medium were it's immediatly rewarding to write (because you've got feedback very quickly for small bodies of work). Pavlovian of me, ne ? ^^
X and Allan Poe sounds plain COOL ! I loved Link's fic in that sort of style, you've probably read it, the Raven ? Can't wait to see yours ^^
Yeah, romantic indeed, which is probably why that idea has been done so many times for lots of ships ;) But it hasn't been for SeixSub and we've got too many cues to in their story not to do it. Main problem for me with this fic (apart from avoiding the traps of wishfulfillment and fan service) is writing Seishirou in character when he's not in control, if you see what I mean.
If you like it, I could definitly welcome your help ! Are you thinking about betaing or co-writing ?
So far I had mostly a clear vision of the first situation :
Seishirou is battling against some kind of occult thing (no idea what yet - demon, ghost or the like) in Tokyo by night when Subaru happens to come on the scene (attracted by the energies probably) he misunderstands the situation and tries to save the creature Seishirou is fighting. The creature takes advantage of the situation to lash at both of them, and there's a big explosion resulting of all the conflicting forces. We are told that in flashback as Seishirou just wakes up from the lapse of conciousness resulting from the explosion. He is blinded but mostly alright, and he can feel through the brands that Subaru is hurt and is loosing lots of blood. He can have an impression of his surrunding with his link to Subaru, so he has to keep him awake all through the traject and he gets the both of them to a hospital.
That's for the first chapter. Afterward you've got confused Subaru who feels too guilty to want to pretend to hate Seishirou, and in trouble Seishirou has it is obvious to him that a blind sakurazukamori is useless so he must find a way to get Subaru to kill him... Add questions wether blindness is or not permanent, and chasing the creature from earlier.
That's pretty much it.

I hope you don't think I'm taking over your fic. ^^;; It's just the idea of Seishirou learning to be at the complete mercy of someone else, it might be a good way to bitch-slap him into non-bastardness (if that made any sense whatsoever). And the demon/ghost could make an appearance later in the fic, and does some sort of heavy damage to Subaru to make Seishirou realise just how helpless he is without him. Gwahaha...this sounds fun.
