So I missed today two classes for no good reason. Why do I get bored and lazy so easily ? It's like I only have to state of being : hyperactive enthousiasm or gloomy laziness. :/
Anyway, for this reason I spent a lot of time on the web chatting with Maya and Tammaiya some of it might be of interest to other fangirls&boys on my flist ;)


Kattaiya: Yeah. Fahye and I have had whole rant-y conversations about how Subaru is not just going to cast aside 9 years of angst and losing the only two people he had left (Seishirou and Kamui) because the world is saved. And Fuuma isn't going to just get over killing his sister and his best friend- like Subaru, he literally has no one left. No family, nothing.
DameEtrangere: so they should end up together ?

Kattaiya: no, they should either spend all their days in angst or die. Seriously, I think Subaru would be happier dead. ^^;
Kattaiya: note that I don't want this to happen really, but I've already resigned myself to the reality that X = pain. *g*
DameEtrangere: that thought depresses me, i don't think anyone is ever better off dead
DameEtrangere: yeah it is, but i keep hoping for it to end on an uplifting note ^^
Kattaiya: No. But... I think that Subaru would think that, and as long as he believes it it's true in a way.
Hee! My theory is that's the reason CLAMP discontinued it- they started it when one of them had everything go wrong in her life, and now they don't want to work on it any more because it depresses them.

DameEtrangere: my own theory is that his mother died at his birth, that's one of the reason behind his selflessness
Kattaiya: that could be it, yes. Also, being brought up to be the Sumeragi head would put a lot of pressure on him, particularly after he was branded and his father was killed by Setsuka- he lives in a strict traditional household, and his branding would probably cause his grandmother to be very stressed after what happened to her son. I wouldn't be surprised if he felt guilty for causing her stress. Then, of course, being an already fragile child, doing a job where he has to see horrible crimes and tragedies all the time would effect him really badly, especially since there would be times when he'd wonder if he could have done something or when people blame HIM. Especially with incidents like that girl he used to know telling him she hates him- children take things like that to heart, especially if they've already got a complex.

Kattaiya: so it could quite easily have skipped a generation. Or his mother could have been the last head.The problem with that is that in Japanese there is no "the". So it could have been simply "a previous" translated as the.

I sometimes suspect that Japanese is the most ambiguous language on earth.

DameEtrangere: so either he knows she's the most likely to have made such a spell for some reason (id, Subaru's mother or father couldn't have done it) either ... well, she was the head before
Kattaiya: Yes. Though it's likely that Subaru and Hokuto's parents are dead, seeing as Hokuto and Subaru live alone and there is no mention of their parents at any point. So it could easily be both at once. D'oh.

DameEtrangere: as i said my own theory was that the mother died birthing the twins, and that the father died fighting a curse / ghost / evil spirit whatever
Kattaiya: I agree with his mother dying in childbirth. I kind of get the feeling that Subaru could be the direct successor, though. If he was in shikifuku at age 8... he looked accustomed to it, so he was obviously being raised as a successor even then. Then again, his father could have been raising him, or could have died when he was really young. And I guess it doesn't make that much sense to skip a generation.

Yes, it is the same thing again. But I think they DO mention Subaru obaasama being the twelfth head in X, now that it's been brought up...
