1. X/1999 & Tokyo Babylon
My favourite male character is Sorata. I love his attitude, the fact that knowing he's going to die makes him enjoy life to his fullest. I really adored him the first time I saw the TV Serie.
My favourite female character is Arashi. I have a very soft spot for female soldier type, but Arashi is a bit more than that. She's got depth, the kind of total commitment to what she loves that makes me melt. She's the kind of girl I could fall in love very, very easily.
It's strange given this that my favourite pairing isn't SorataxArashi, but it really isn't ^^

SeishirouxSubaru is the pairing of course. Come on guys ? Why did it take you so long ?

2. Yami no Matsuei
Tatsumi is one of my two favourite character. Why I adore him ? Well, he's got mommy issue, he's got control issue, he's got unrequeried love for Tsuzuki, he can be teased to death by Watari, what's not to like ?
And he's sexy. I love that kind of men, who are so much about control of themselves, who never let them be... can get great angst. And he can be quite a bastard when he wants to, I love that, but he'll also always fall for Tsuzuki's puppy act. Teehee. He's one of my favourite character of the protective seme type.

Tsuzuki is the other one, the first one I fell in love with, and, strangely enough, one of the manga character I identify the most with. It's all that cheerful angst. I so react in the same way when I feel down. let's deny everything and act bubbly silly... oh yeah. I also have a great admiration for the way he can be so downright manipulative while being so idiotic and submissive.

and the pairing is Tatsumi x Tsuzuki. Because it was the angstiest pairing I could find in this fandom. No really ! TsuzukixHisoka is too fluffy for my taste, not that i don't like them together in canon but reading fics about them bores me, and i can't take Muraki seriously enough for pairings that involves him. So lovely, complex, doomed Tatsuki it is ^^

4. Clamp Captor Sakura
Touya. Well he's sexy as hell. He's got mommy issue, he's got control issue... oh wait, does that sound familiar ? Well, yes, Touya is my other favourite character of the protective seme type. Except not quite as angsty. TouyaxYuki being my one and only fluffy pairing, I tend to like them to be happy.

5. Buffy the Vampire Slayer

BuffyxSpike was the pairing that made me beat my heart... now I feel nostalgic ^^

6. Full Metal Alchemist
Hughes !is my favourite male character. I loved him very quickly when I started reading the manga, and loved him all the more in the anime. It's the father thing. Fathers are sexy ! And he's just... so adorable and sweet and funny and obnoxious in all the good ways.

and Lust I adore her because I adore Femme Fatale. I tend to think all of the Homolonculus are tragic, but Lust is the most tragic of them. She so desperatly wants to be humane, and she's ready to do so much for it. And she's so sexy. *adores*

My favourite ship of course is RoyxRiza. Hell, I don't really see any other ship in FMA. Well, they're adorable, they're both very coold character... Riza being an exceptionnaly coold female soldier character, and Roy being a sexy bitch, and they are very, very cute together. Nuff said.

7. Kakumei Shoujo Utena
Favourite female character is Anthy. Utena in general is a serie for which it's tough for me to pick favourite characters, but Anthy slowly wormed her way into my heart by the ending of the serie. It's once more the passive agressive I'm so manipulative while I appear so submissive act that gets to me. And the witch part. When I was kid and I read fairy tales, I always wanted to be the witch. In a serie where everyone cooes about Prince and Princess, how could I not adore the witch ?
My second favourite female character is Kozue. Because she stands for instinct. Because she's a manipulative bitch and a sexy one. But i need to watch the second season to be totally sure about it ^^
Still to guess my favourite ship and my two favourite male characters ^^
Similarly Miki is my second favourite male character. partly because he's one of the very few genuinely sweet characters in that serie - not without flaws, but caring enough. Partly because a part of me cannot help but read Miki and Kozue as a very twisted up version of the Sumeragi twins. And partly because of how very quiet and reserved he is.
And my favourite male character is Tsuwabuki, because I decided to be random that way, and because that kid is cute in such a wonderfully CREEPY way !

TougaxSaionji All those lovely lesbians and i got for the slash pairing ^^;; what could I say I love those boys together, the bitterness, the history, all the meaness between them and despite it all they come back to each others and there's this glimmer of hope they might eventually become decent with each others. <3

8. Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle and XXXholic
Yuuko. If I wanted to self insert myself in the clamp world, i'd want to be Yuuko. Powerful witch of the dimension with a bad sense of humour and a great sense of fashion, she's per-fect. I so want to be her it's not even funny.

Ships's KuroganexFye of course. Because that the kind of gently bickering ship I adore. because they both have so many secrets and the way they understand each others without talking when they have to fight <3

9. Matantei Loki Ragnarock
Frey ! I'm not sure why. he's just the right amount of funny and silly while still being an adorable dork. Because of the way he accompagnies grumpy Heimdall while chasing his sister and his Nadeshiko. Because I love his sense of flash which always ends ridiculously.
Oh yeah, I have another favourite character.

10. Fruit Basket
Shigure ! Shigure how I adore thee ! Another one for the manipulative caring bastard award and how so. I love the old dog (you're nothing but an old dog who cries all the time XD) he's sly, he's perverse, he's twisted, he's downright ruthless, he can even be cruel and he would do anything for the people he cares. And he's really, really very manipulative. And he reminds me of one of my ex, but hush.

Momiji is my second favourite male character, and he's everything that Shigure is not. Except for the manipulative part, which Momiji can definitly be too, but in a sweet way. I adore Momiji because he's so honnestly, genuinely kind and wise. When he tells Tohru about the importance of keeping memories even bad ones I melt all the time. Besides the kid is incredibly cute - and abuses it of course XD

Hiro is my third favouritr male character. Didn't I mention I loved brats ? I adore Hiro because he reminds me of Rin (from PSME), sarcastic, smart enough he thinks it's enough for him to understand everything, very analytical of people but not knowing at all how to show it when he loves someone. Adorable.

Rin is my favourite female character, one I fell for right away. For one she's the Horse, so I had to love her. For second, she's incredibly sexy. And thirdly, as wingblossom she's a lot like Arashi. Extreme in her commitment to her opinion, wild but also icy. The kind of woman I fall in love with so quickly it's not even funny.

There's still my other favourite female characters to guess for Furuba ! By the way I don't have any ship in Fruit Basket, so nothing to guess there ^^

11. Gravitation

Ryouichi ! I adore him ! he's like Tsuzuki fuzionned with Momiji ! One minute he's the cutest thing ever, the other he's sex on a stick according Maya's expression. Oh, and sometimes he's got thise kind of deep wisdom that makes me want to hug him and to cry. I adore him to boots and it's all chaineddove's fault. She's evil that way. ^^

K ranking third of my favourite characters. He's so wacky ! And he's a father. Fathers are sexy ! And did I mention he was totally off bunkers ? Oh, and I love his voice <3

12. Slayers

Xelloss, of course, is my favourite character. Right there in the not-so-caring manipulative cheerful bastard archetype. First time the guy said it was a secret I knew I would love him forever and even. So evil, so cute, so fun ! <333

13. RG Veda
Kujaku's hand down my favourite character. He's cheerful, he's manipulative, he's got a secret (damn forgot to list Slayer... oh well, i'll remove one and none will be the wiser) and then he breaks my heart when he reveals his story. One of my favourite of the caring manipulative smiling bastard type of character.

14. Please Save my Earth
Rin it is, and Shion comes close, but Rin it is. Adorable brat that he is. I love brats ! PSME is one of the serie where i don't pay attention to the slash most people seem to like because I really really adore the main couple.

15. Wolf's Rain

Toboe it is. Sometimes I really adore those genuinely sweet characters. No matter how naive they might be, I feel a fierce protectiveness regarding them and then *sobs*

Yeap i am stretching a lot concerning those as to whether or not they are one of my fandoms. Deal with it. I added the bit about pairings because sometimes I have a favouritecharacter and a favourite character and they're not the same at all. Oh, and I accept several favourite characters for lots of those so keep playing even in bold ones ^^

And yeah vacations were okay. A bit rainy but the Laggo Maggiore is very pretty.

Well, I do adore Kozue, and she would be my second favourite female character, after Anthy (whom su_chan already guessed. As for Saionji, he's not my favourite character, but he's in my favourite ship and the one I will hungrily hunt fanfics for. I'm sort of ashamed of myself for liking him ^^;;

She's a very subtle character. I only started to like her at the end when I realized how evil she was <33 well not totally evil, but quite a bitch all the same XD

I read a very good essay about there where the author wrote she was the character she could the most easily identify with and I whole-heartedly agree with that. She's the dark reflection of the audience. Utena is so ruthless in its commentary of human interaction *smiles wickedly*

Yeah, I think I read that essay at Empty Movement. She's also -- hands down -- one of the most complex characters I've ever seen in any form of media. Maybe I haven't seen/read enough to judge, but I love how that whenever you peel back layers from her personality, there are always more and more to be an unraveled. She's an enigma in an enigma in an enigma, if that makes any sense.

I actually thought she was extremely bland in the beginning, but my perception of her entirely shifted around the middle of the Black Rose arc. There are too many examples to cite, but even rewatching, Ikuhara planned out her character so well. Even in subtle comments: like her "Saionji-sempai" after the first duel-- the subtle acidity of her tone and smile as she drops the 'sama' is pulled off unbelievably well.

I also like the fact that despite her lack of idealization (for all her creepiness, I'd agree that she's oddly easy to relate with, more so than any other character) and deep flaws, she isn't without redemption. In fact, that's one of the things I love about the series itself -- no matter no despicable a character may be, it's optimistic in that they can still change (at least by the very end of the series). They just have to set themselves free.

True enough. But then no characters in that serie are really simple. The one I have the most difficulty to warp my mind around is Touya. But then I have always had hard time understind the lust for power for the power itself's sake.

And same for me. I really didn't like her at the begin, and then it suddenly made tilt during the third season (since I didn't watch the first one), and i would agree she's been very cleverly drawn. But then she IS the most important character of the serie in a way. And hand down the most powerful (oh irony...)

Ahh totally totally agreeing. I'm very admirative for the serie for this reason. No matter how pitilessly analysing human interactions they are. No matter how much light they shed in the petty power plays and selfish greed , they never stop picture human characters who also have crave for being honnorable and have the potential to grasp some measure of greatness.
Frankly i'm admirative. It's hard to be able to depict at the same time that humans can do the worse and the best.

I'm good at guessing? ^^. Really, it was partly because you like Arashi, who falls somewhat along that archetype, and also because I like Rin too.

Did you read the latest chapters? RIN GETS ALL HER BEAUTIFUL HAIR CHOPPED OFF AUGHHH NOOOO. I'm slightly worried that I was more concerned for her hair than when she was thrown off of a three-story building. XD Alas, this is shoujo manga.

And yeah, it's terrible. Worse than the hair, she starts dressing like an Office Lady! Where are the impossible four-inch heels, darn it?! I hope this isn't some kind of subconscious message that dressing like Rin leads to you being pushed off of a building, horribly humiliated in a dank room and having your hair shorn off? Because she's the only sexy female character Furuba has, and that'd be a damned shame. XD

I do like her actually. For such a naive and overly selfless character, I actually like quite a deal, but there's so many characters I love more in Furuba ^_^

Ryuuichi ! He's my first favourite character. For which I blame chained_dove It's all her fault and Shouting Stars'. I adore him.
I like Tatsuha a great deal too, but not that much.

Bwahahahahaha ! No ! I'm about as likely to like Touga as I am to like Akio... which is not at all. Sure he's pretty. But he's a slut, which tends to make me want to point and laugh, and as I said, I have too much difficulty warping my mind around his character, I don't get people who want power for power's sake.

I had perfectly valid reasons before, but they've all sort of seeped away, leaving only residual hatred. ^^;. I have to think about this some more.

The only other two significant male characters I can think of are Dios (who I tend to think of as one side of Akio, not a separate character by himself) and Tsuwabuki! I'd be really surprised if it turned out to be either of them.
