Interview meme. It's funny i remember when this started and i did it the first time. I won't post any questions tonight but i'll get back to you tomorrow or the day after don't worry. Somewhat dead right now

The rules:
1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I will respond by asking you five questions. I get to pick the questions.
3. You will post the answers to the questions (and the questions themselves) on your LJ.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions. And thus the endless cycle of the meme goes on and on and on and on.....

Questions kindly asked by [livejournal.com profile] laurus_nobilis

1. Do you tend to like a particular genre of stories, or it depends on the stories/characters themselves?

Wide question isn't it ?

Hmmm. Books : I read mostly Science Fiction and fantasy. I sometimes stray into crime novels or historical ones (or both) but very seldom. So there's a very definite bias toward a specific genre there.
Movies : I don't really have any favourites. I have genres I /don't like/. Like american romantic comedies. But some of my favourite movies come in all sorts of shape and forms.
Manga & comics in general : I tend to like stories with elements of fantasy/sf in them much better than others, in general. However I'm much more open to try and read about anything. There's a couple of purely non magical stories I adore. For exemple Nana, which I am extremely fond of and which is very uncharacteristic manga for me to like.
Fanfics : all about the characters. If I don't know the fandom and didn't love the characters, I see no reason to read.

That said, liking the characters is something very important for me to enjoy a story. There's some exception, but usually it's one of the main thing. If I can't empathize a little bit, I'll be bored (main reason for my dislike of Dune despite the incredible worldbuilding for exemple)
I adore good word building, but it alone doesn't make a good story, even SF/fantasy.
I appreciate good plots, but it's one of the thing I pay the least attention. My mind just doesn't work that way ^^
Along with characters, well developped thematics and good symbolism is one of the thing that will make me fall in love with a book.
Oh, and writing style. I love lyrism, i love well written stories and sharp oneliners.
And to speak about general type of stories... well i do tend to like bittersweet stories. Too fluffy generally doesn't do it for me, and I abhor sappiness.

2. What do you like to do in your free time?

Reading. Reading. Reading. I spend a awful lot of time reading. Books, fanfics, anything.
Internet surfing, obviously XD
Discussing (I love intellectual debates of any kind)
Writing.
Roleplaying Games. Livetop ones.
Icon making (always nice to do to relax)
Walking.
Shopping ^^

3. You get to save one of RG Veda's six stars. Who and why?
Ryu-oh, because he was the one who really had the most life still waiting for him. Karura-oh chose her death, and so did Kendappa-oh and Souma-oh, so I have nothing to say about it. Tragic it might have been, but it didn't strike me with the amount of "unfair" Ryu-oh's did.

I don't believe Kujaku was a star, therefore there's no point there for me to decide whether i love him enough that i don't care he chose his own death as well.
:p

4. What's your favourite place in the world?

Only one ? That's so difficult to pick. Especially when there's so many places I would wish to see and visit and I haven't yet.
I think i'll have to answer Brittany. It's a lovely region of france, with the kind of lousy weather I adore, gray and melancholic, much cider, much crepes, nice people, and lovely towns such as Rennes.

5. Name a FMA character that, if he/she dies, will make you never forgive Arakawa.

Hmmm good question. I only read up to the fourth volume of the manga, so I gather there's lot of characters who aren't in the anime we are introduced to...
If I take only the ones in the anime, well I saw both my favourite characters die in it (one of them also dying in the manga parts I've read) and didn't blink, so I'm not sure FMA's got a character for me to get that reaction. I mean, look, there's already been cute five years old little girl death in this story >_> It's hard to top that.

All right, let's be honnest, I, in general, don't mind character death. There's only a few kind of characters who'll get me the "NOOO, NOOOO !" reaction. (such as Ryu-oh, or as one of the character who died in Wolf's Rain and i won't mention for fear of spoiling other people but you can take a guess)
