Oh crap, I'm being tagged? I can't answer half of the questions considering more than half of my books are *still* in Caracas. It's just not fair, especially in exam time. *emo tear*

Besides, you won't find anything interesting. I bet I'm the one in your Flist with the least number of read books. My family are people that consider buying books/comics as a "waste of money", as they constantly remind me anytime I go shopping *hisses* So not a lot of books at home, nope. With 50€ a month, you can't buy a bloody thing.

Most of those questions are about the most recent book bought/read, that can't be that difficult to remember ? And the most meaningful books, well, by definition you should be able to think of them without consulting your collection.

I'm surprised you don't own lots of book. I hope that means you borrow a lots from your local bibliotheque ? (*used to ravage totally her own*) You always felt to me as a very well read person and passionate about books which is why I tagged you ^^

Heh, I wish.

I only frequent the college library, because I have no idea where the normal libraries are in this fucking city. You find a bar in every corner, but try to find a library, meh. Sadly, only 10% of the books in the library are literature: the rest of them are about computers (since, you know, it's my career and stuff... maybe I should find out where the philology faculty is and raid their library, if they let me). Good if you want to get a Photoshop book or something, but not if you want to read a novel. I already read the interesting ones.

I wish I could have books, but I can't and I'm almost illiterate. I don't know people who reads either and can recommend me or lend me anything. Half of my money goes to the monthly manga. And my family is complaining because I have too many books and I keep buying? Bitch, please. I buy, like, one or two a month in the best of cases! I must have less than thirty!

I'm not really a good person to do this meme. I'm surprised I still remember how to read. And I don't want to think about meaningful books because I'm scared I might forget one because I don't have it at sight.

Oh, and... in the end this conversation helped. I went and made a search for libraries in my city, and I think I found a public one near my house. Woot! I hope I can find it with just a map in my hand.

Hehe, I'm glad it was of some use ! yay for public libraries, they're really love ! Otherwise, Teresa (generalblossom keeps recomanding me to some sort of Book Exchange web site / organization which apparently works quite well. Apparently they're all about "setting free" books you've read and exchanging them with people all around the world (Teresa's in Portugal, i don't think it's impossible to work with people living quite near) want me to get more info on that for you ?

Nah, it's okay. I doubt I can participate in those things, considering my personal catalog and my lack of good books to borrow. I can get rid of those Anne Rice books, but I don't want people to be poisoned with things from that batshit-crazy lady. I'd better give them to a second-hand shop or something. The rest of my books are HP, some Stephen King ones and a couple of Pratchett ones (literally, a couple, as in two books).

Hi! The site I was telling ( never pressuring, AE, I hope!) etrangere about was bookcrossing, which is mostly a tracking site, pretty anarchic, no guarantees one can get this book or another. But it can be pretty interesting, and there are things like ring-loans which are really worth it a chance to read a book if shipping books is not too expensive where you are ( Portugal got bookrates which is nice!). If not, then it might not be worth it.

And I feel the pain about lack of available books, good luck with it - my family has gotten to terms with my book buying though not sure they understand it. A tip, do you know those official english language school, the British Council? If there is a branch where you live, check their library. I have used it at home and in another country, and the library was great, full of english books ( started reading Iain Banks and Terry Pratchett there, among others), and while it was paid they had a special rate for students which ended being really reasonable specially since you could loan music and movies as well, and renew by phone. Good luck in any case.

British Council? That sounds like the kind of things that exist in big capitals, not stupid small cities like the one I live in. Same with the bookcrossing, I doubt there's anyone in my city doing it, and I'm not traveling to another city in order to get a book that might be taken by the time I get there.
