Won't it be in Beijing? I swear I read that in one of those many damned articles I had to read. -_-

Yeah, the 2008 one is in Beijing. They just voted for the 2012 one. And I'm very glad (once more) that it's not going to be in my city *snobbish*

How come you don't want it in your city?

I don't care much about sport and having it in my city, apart from the cost and crowd, means having everyone and everything speaking about it ALL THE BLOODY TIME, which will drive me crazy. God knows christmas for exemple annoys me well enough as it is.

Ah. Yeah. I know how that can be when people talk about the same thing for so long. >>;; That sort of thing annoys me too. I'm not too fond of Christmas anymore; actually any holiday. When I move out I won't feel obligated to celebrate any of them, so that will be a relief.

I started to laugh when the one of the British people on my list had a happy post and right under it was your happy post about Paris losing the bid XD

Innit a perfect world ? ^^

Oh well, if your Brittish friend is happy to have more local charges and taxes to pay, to see even more tourist in their city during that summer crowding the subway, and to have to endure 24/24, 7/7 TV, radio, friends and foes collectively ranting about the same thing, I'm glad for her *smirks*

And my view on it would be more of this whole thing encouraging the city's popularity, possibly economy and what not. But you also have good points on the cons. Anyway, it should all be fun, in my opinion XD;

Randomly...I don't know if my friend is a him or her. I think him, but to be honest...eek, I never asked xx;

It's not in Madrid either. Now people would shut up around here, hopefully.

Indeed. I'm sure journalists can find some other stupid thing to say nothing about. ^^

Yeah, like reality shows involving people becoming a pop star or something. Ugh.

Woohoo! New York lost! (I'll have some peace and quiet between 2011 and 2012.)
