Hokuto rocks ♥
For me it's a character that's really defined by her death scene. Because her death is such an optimistic, life-affirming gesture, ironically. She doesn't give up. She wants her brother back and she wants even to give a chance to Seishirou to love him. "there's no such thing as someone who shouldn't love". And she says that to her killer. That's just freaking unbelievably cool.
It's the kind of bravery that shakes the whole world, you know.

But Hokuto is also such a girl. She's fun and she's lively, she's futile and she's full of contradiction. She's independant and modern but she wants to become a housewife, and she's totally crazy about her brother.

Subaru is Hokuto's most important person. I don't mean she's in love with him, but he's the person she's ready to die for, the person her whole life revolves around. I suppose Hokuto is a bit in love with Seishirou and Subaru as a couple. But I guess she wanted to get her own life, at some point, she just never had the time to. She's a difficult person to visualise with someone romantically, even Kakyou.

The miracle of Hokuto is that she was never bitter enough to envy Subaru. It would have been such an easy thing to do, be jealous of the special one, the one with all the powers and all the attention. But she's not, she's clever enough to realize how much Subaru suffers of his powers and she's loving enough to be willing to give up Subaru to Seishirou.

She's not without flaws still. She is a bit possessive, I think, with the way she dress up Subaru as she wants. And she's loud and sometimes clumsy about things.

She sacrificed too much, possibly, because of what she wanted of Subaru's happiness. That's the part she played in their tragedy. She wasn't reasonnable... but I can't honnestly disagree with her.
