I've made a new layout. Not sure how long I'll keep it as it's pretty flashy, but there. The header is a picture by Amano.

I went to see Brothers Grimm yesterday. It was pretty good, fun in a shallow, not taking itself much seriously way. It was full of little Terry Gilliam habits I really appreciated. And it was ever so slashy.
I had been told it was bad, so I wasn't disapointed by it for a Gilliam movie, but I might have been otherwise.

Mmm. Yes. I haven't seen all of it myself. I have a leetle scan of The Fool mounted on grey card board with a small crow feather glued on right next to my monitor.

His work on The Dreamhunters was just amazing, and also perfect. I so envy that.. and also think it amazing to do. Not just how right he got it and beautiful; but, the way his work supports and makes the story bigger (I don't mean to downplay Mr Gaiman here either.) And in some his illustrations are so good they are actually tactile.

After that I surfed a lot online and it just made me incredibly hungry to know more about his work and to see it in person. That would be one of my big wishes for next year.

*koff* yes, bit of a fan. Pardon the blather. :-)

I wish I had the money to buy one of his artbook, myself. if I keep up working maybe ^^

Nothing to pardon, as I love Amano as well XD

I preordered the Fairies one at amazon, which is $17.00, I think.

I can't afford the others either.

Oh! That's so pretty! I love Amano's works. :) I was actually looking for images to create a new layout for mine, then I came to browse the FL and saw this. XD How coincidental.

I wanted to see that movie. It's not playing here anymore. I'll have to wait for it to come out on DVD.

Yes, he makes absolutly gorgeous pictures ^^

Can't wait to see your new layout, then ^^

I wasn't playing anymore in many places, so I went to a very small movie theoter in Paris. It was an old theater and had little cherub around the screen. It was pretty weird ^^

Eh. I won't be making that for a long while... I think.

Wow. That theater actually sounds really interesting. :D

Ah, yeah, found him already.

Venezuelan educative system wasn't strong on art history, I'm afraid.

I'm not sure I like him or not. I don't fancy 20th century's art so much.

Me neither. He's one of the few I like. Gotta do with the mythological/biblical themes. I like symbolic, weirdly figurative art. I can't stand abstract and impressionism, so it's tough luck for lots of modern european art.^^

I do like impressionism a bit. But not abstract or cubism or popart or those genres. I like some of Dali's paintings, but that's it.

I guess I prefer ancient art and Renaissance's. Not that meaningful, sometimes boring, but pretty.

Then again, my schooling never got me in contact with a lot of art styles. I'm such an art analphabet.

Yes, I agree Renaissance and ancient stuff are better. Or non Western ^^

I don't think we did study a lot either in class. I remember I learned some stuff in Spanish class, ironicaly (about Goya and ... that guy who did the little Infante stuff, very famous Velasquez ? I think it was Velasquez, yes) or maybe in History (but nothing I remember clearly) but none in Drawing class XD
