I think I fell in love with Hughes before I did with Lust, so here. Hughes belongs to that archetype of adorable father I adore and he's one of the best. At the same time he's wonderfully manipulative in a teasing, low key way, and that's another thing I love. Add tragic death, wonderful friendship, cutest family ever... there's nothing I don't like about him ^^
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now
Greed. I didn't much like when he first showed up. He looked borringly show off and flatly evil. Then he started kicking ass, being cutely show off, and having this whole rebellious, Carpe Diem attitude which i can't do anything but love. By the time he was killed, I was quite fond of him ^^
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't
Envy. Despite that at the very end of the anime (say, two, three last episodes ?) I started liking him a little bit, I never understood why so many people worship him, as a willain I find him quite boring. However his... relationship ^^ to Hohenheim did redeem him and made him interesting in my mind.
4. The character I love that everyone else hates
I never hated Roze who seem the get the most hatred in that fandom. Nor have I liked her or anything, but heh.
Oh, and Winry, if anyone does hate Winry.
5. The character I used to love but don't any longer
I feel ambiguous about Scar. That's a character I like for many things, but at the same time, I can't let myself fully love for other. I think the ending of the anime, and the way they simplified the way they dealt with his moral ambiguity might be partially the reason for that so I can't wait to read the manga to see how that unfolds.
Oh, and the Furher. What they did with hiwm at the end of the anime was boring and flat.
6. The character I would shag anytime
Huh. LustHughesRoyRizaIzumi. What do you mean I should just pick one ?
7. The character I'd want to be like
I did a a quizz once that said I was like Chezka. As if that wasn't obvious XD
Lust, I guess. I have that kind of crush-want-to-be-like-her with her. She's such a wonderful femme fatale, with just enough of actual lustfulness, but pretty low key, all things considered. I love her voice in the anime, the coldness, the loneliness and the unaknowledged sadness. And the ruthless year to be human. She kicks a lot of buttons that I, strangely enough, relate with.

9. A pairing that I love
RoyxRiza, because I don't do ship in FMA, but those two are just adorable.
10. A pairing that I despise
I kept too much away from the fic side of this fandom to know of those there to despise any, even though I go googly eyed and "huh ?"-like anytime I hear mentionned "elricest" or "lustxsloth" or even "RoyxEd"
But right now, nah, I don't despite any.

Roy/Riza is awesome. I love the UST. I'm not a big shipper in FMA, either, though I do admit to liking Sloth/Lust for the hotness factor and to being a fan of non-graphic Elricest. Because with how close they are, how could either of them ever find anyone who understands them?

Date: 28 December 2005 12:32 am (UTC)I'm like you with Envy, but for the most part of my watching the anime I didn't like him at all. And I don't feel that's why most fans of the character love him so.
Urgh, I knew they would be. Female characters always get such a bad rap. Even in FMA where most female character kick ass Phenomenally.
I know someone else who likes LustxSloth, it's just that for me they have such a non dynamic interaction, I can't imagine anything even for the sake of "yay pretty girls together" Even Gluttony would make a better partner ;)
I warmed up pretty late to sibling incest in general, maybe I'd like it now if I tried, but at the time when I was watching the anime it just... well, I don't sexualize character like Al. Even if he's got some amazing interaction with a great many characters, starting with Scar... they should be a name for non-sexual shipping.
But yeah, I see what you know about their closeness. It's sweet.

I like the power struggle aspect of their relationship, and playing off of that. Because they do have a bit of a power struggle going on, and I like that. Gah, no Gluttony! ;)
I am very, very picky about my siblingcest. For Ed and Al, I like it a certain way. Mainly, Ed develops vague romantic notions for Al and freaks the fuck out over it. I don't know, I just really like that. And the struggle to come to grips with it and face it and deal with it.

I'm now waiting for thr French official translation of the manga to pick up from where I left to continue ^^

Regulus Black. Because WTF, he's not much of a character in canon, yet somehow he wormed himself into my affection. And I was jumping with glee at RAB's not.

Bill Weasley ! I don't get why he gets so much love in fandom. As soon as Harry had described him and how utterly cool he was, with his piercing and his Indiana-job, I thought "uuurggh, how utterly boring". I think him and Fleur are pretty well matched.
4. The character I love that everyone else hates
Gilderoy Lockhart ! I can't help me, he's so funny ! And so utterly gay !
Oh and Percy, though we are quite a few people to love him, thankfully. I love every bit of his pompous, anal, awkward ass ^^ I think it's mostly because he reminds me of Tastumi, weirdly enough.

Nah, i can't think of any. Tonks maybe, but I still like her, I give more slack than that to characters.

See Sirius Black and Percy.
Strangely enough I'm a rabid SnapexLupin shipper who wouldn't want to shag either of them.

These days I'm finding myself more and more adverse to SiriusxRemus for some reason, but i think that's just my contrarian sense speaking.

I love both Remus and Tonks, and I don't see them as exclusively homosexual or anything. It's a question of dynamics. I see them as good friend, but I don't see anything sexual there. I can read it, though, and I have as secondary pairing to fics, so it's not a hair-tingling distaste.
And yeah, romance definitly isn't her strong point ^_^

Eugenie. I didn't even remember her from the book ! But she's adorable ! She's spunky without being annoying, feminine without being a lady in distress ! she's hot and she's human.

Benedetto. I get the pretty blonde crazy guy, but he just doesn't do it for me.
and how could I forget, the Count. I just don't get the fascination. I wasn't impressed by him in the book, but at least he grew up my himself more there. Here he's just that weird guy possessed. Okay, he's interesting, but I haven't got the least sympathy for him.

Does anyone else love Haydee ? I adore her. I loved her in the book too, weirdly enough.
And Fernand too. He's a scum, but I rather like him ^^

Mercedes... did a little bit disapoint me with her uselessness during the duel, but she doesn't have an easy role to play.

People say I'm a lot like Karen, which tends to surprise me a lot. I do adore Karen, I could do with more kindness, righteousness and courage. Hokuro too, I'd like to be more like her. She's a wonderfully brave and kind and joyful girl.

Kamui. He needs to set his priority straight. I wouldn't slap Subaru because I don't want to be killed by Seishirou, and I'm sure it wouldn't change anything anyway.

Shigure ! I love him, he's just my type of manipulative caring bastard. So ruthless and tricky and so subtle about it ♥
For quickest character I fell in love with, I have to say it's Rin though. Love at first sight.

Yuki. I warmed up to him slowly, from the subtlities of his character and the way he thinks he's being nice to people because it's the easiest thing to do. At first his bishiness and princeness annoyed me.
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't
Hatori. Not that I dislike him, but he is far from my top 10 of favourite characters.
4. The character I love that everyone else hates
Rin ^^ Hiro, I think I'm one of the rare person who adores him.
I'm rather fond of Akito too, in a twisted way ^^

I don't ship in Furuba, it'd feel too weird ^^ HaruxRin for canon, and if you insist I'd say that YukixTohruxKyou is one of the genuine threesome I couldn't imagine any other way.
