Am I the only one amused that there seems to be a consensus that once Remus has broken up with Tonks to be with his one true love Severus, Tonks gets to be with Charlie ?
I haven't counted yet, but I think there's been at least 4-5 fics like that, yet.

What's the appeal of the CharliexTonks ship, anyway ?

Bill's already engaged. ;) I tend to pair them up because they're both around the same age, both fun people, and both very earnest and caring and down to earth types.

I see your point. I think my problem is I tend to ship people who are not at all alike XD Though I don't think of Tonks as down to earth ^^

I think it's just amusing when such a consensus is reached wordlessly by a fandom. One of those group decision.

Then again I like to ship Tonks with Ginny, Bellatrix or Moody... >_> ^^

I think of Tonks as down to earth in the sense that she doesn't care what people think about her, isn't concerned with how she looks - other than having fun with it - and being hard working and sincere.

It is kind of funny how those things work, though. :D

Tallying my fic:

2 where it isn't resolved what happens to Tonks.

1 where it technically isn't resolved, but it's the prequel to
1 where she ends up with Hermione.

And finally, 1 where she ends up with Charlie.

(If I include non-finished-but-I-really-do-intend-to-finish-them fics, 1 where Tonks dies, and 1 where with a Severus/Tonks/Remus threesome.)

So apparently I just hook her up with whomever is convenient at the time. :P

In all seriousness, what Lady Feylene said is true, and there's a bit of the wanting to avoid everyone-is-gay syndrome, which only leaves guys to choose from. Charlie is handy, of a similar age, and doesn't have any current canon entanglements. It's just... easy, and since they're not the focus of the fic usually, you don't want to be distracting your readers with the mental gymnastics of, say, Tonks/Mundungus. Or something. :D

Most of the ships in the Harry Potter fandom completely, completely confuse me. I think HP is the official fandom for "anything goes" couples. :p

Heh, funny, I don't think I've ever read any James/Severus, despite reading lots of Snape slash. Lately I'm thinking of coming on board of James/Sirius, though ^^
