What would happen if Voldemort passed through the Veil, regardless of the Horcruxes ? Would nothing happen (his soul won't make him die so he wouldn't disapear through it) or would he end up in a state similar to the one he was post Godric's Hollow assault ?

And if you put a Horcrux through the Veil ? Would that effectively destroy the Horcrux because the Veil would kill the piece of soul, or would that do nothing because simple objects are not affected by the Veil ?

you know, I wrote a fiction where I used the veil to kill Voldemort and destroy the horcruxes... and I never really gave it much thought... I just assumed the veil would destroy the soul pieces...

As far as Voldemort going through the veil without destroying the other horcruxes first... yes, I think he would revert back to his bodyless form, like post Godrics hollow. It makes sense.

You can file this under least helpful imput. ^_^

Wow, you did ? o much for me having bright, original ideas XD where's the fanfic ?

Yeah it just feels like the Veil is such a metaphysical embodiment of Death it might actually manage to kill Voldemort horxcrux or no horcrux...

heh, I mentioned it in passing... in that series of snapshot fics I was writing... in Aftershocks

It was a one liner, so I'm not surprised you don't remember it... "It had been three days since the battle in which the last disembodied bit of dark soul had been tricked into passing through the veil and they had already named it the second battle of the department of mysteries, and the turning point of the war."

You certainly put more thought into it then I did, it was one of those plot points I left hanging. ^_^

Heh. I probably thought it was clever on the spot, forgot it, then suddenly my subconcious got it out tonight, voiced by an excited Regulus who's pretty insistant than he knows how to kill Voldemort now, he'll just have to tell Draco and WRITE IT WRITE IT WRITE IT

I suspect the latter, that he would be in an 'ought to be dead but isn't because of the horcruxes' state, which is what happened when the Avada Kedavra killing curse rebounded on him.

wow... I have no idea. I supose it depends on whether the veil actually kills. All we know is that Sirius is gone, right? Not that he is nessecarily dead. If it does kill, I assume that he would go back to post-Godric's Hollow form unless the horcruxes were destroyed.

If it doesn't kill, he could move on to weak havoc in a whole other dimension/universe and be unstoppable there because all the horcruxes are in our universe... interesting fic fodder...

Or maybe I'm just going off on a tangent... O.o

or maybe he would be extremly weak, because he only has a portion of his soul and the rest of the pieces don't exist in that universe.

But then I guess I have to take into account whether or not only having a piece of his soul would make weaker or just less human.

It's a good question. He certainly doesn't seem weakened as such. I wonder if he has a way to channel power still through those soul parts...

I'd understood as forcing passage to the afterlife, yes. Though I wouldn't mind imagining Sirius sipping cocktails along with Oberon (sorry for the gratuous Amber reference) in another Universe parallel to ours XD

Yeah, it'd be fun. Voldemort could then make a club with other Disembodied Evil Overlords (TM)

Nah, you're not. You're just throwing around ideas for crossover fanfics ^^
