Haha ! writing meme ! gacked of [livejournal.com profile] schemingreader

New to fanfic?
Hardly. Since 2002 in the Buffy fandom.

Prolific?
No, just no. I think my longuest fic is just shy of 5,000 words and full fledged fics can be counted on one hand. For all my fandoms.

Keyboard or biro?
I use some notes occasionally, but mostly it's keyboard.

Caffeine?
Never, I'm a tea person.

Location?
Desck, bed, work, walking, metro...

The start of the writing process?
Ideas hit me out of the blue, often when I'm walking to somewhere, or when I'm trying to sleep.

Much suffering involved?
I'm pretty much all about the suffering. The more there is, the happier I am.

Favored topics?
I love mythological themes and fairy tale feelings. I guess that would be what I write the most.

Most fun to write?
The Last Babylon which is a crazy fic where I fuzionned Tokyo Babylon with The Last Unicorn because Subaru is really the unicorn and Seishirou is really King Haggard.
I still need to finish it.

Attitudes towards comments?
Would sell my soul for them ^_^
Well, it's the instant gratification of comments that makes writing fanfics so great! I'm quite shameless about that.

Attitude towards sharing fic with RL friends and acquaintances?
I had a friend start reading my SiriusxRegulus story, he said he found it "mailsain" (unhealthy ?) I said I agreed XD coming from him (sex tends to be his main topic of conversation), I think I almost felt flattered.
Then my parents, on learning that yes I was still writing stuff on occasion said they'd like to see it, and I said "no, you don't."

In general I don't care much, but out of fandom, reading fics isn't interesting so....

Beta or no beta?
I wish. I don't beta my shortest pieces, ficlets and drabbles and whatnot. I try to get betas for the long ones. I never know quite how to make a beta relationship work. It feels like one of these thing everybody's got the manual book except me. I'm very, very grateful for the people who beta-ed my fics ♥

Plot?
I WISH. Plot tends to be the thing I find the most difficult to write. They're usually quite simplistic, when anything happens at all. Generally my fics work more on a thematic basis than on a plot one.

Title?
I don't over think them. They come and go. Sometimes I have the title idea before I start writing, sometimes it's something I pull out of my ass at the last moment.

Smushy or smutty?
Neither? I don't write much fluff, as for smutt, it tends to be very allusive (though I'm trying to be better at that). Actually most of what I write is gen I think.

Summary?
Often a pain in the ass to come with. These ones are always pulled out of my ass at the last moment and it shows. They always sound silly and cumbersome x_x

Funniest fic?
Judging from comments : Family Man. Which was a Mpreg crack fic and one of the shortest fic I've ever written. It's also one of my most popular one (judging by recs and number of reviews) which depresses me to no end.

Most popular fic?
See above.

Best and Worst?
Do you have to ask questions I don't want to answer?!
Worse : I'm rather unhappy about a Tsubasa drabble I wrote once Game over
Best : I think that Beautiful Things is still one of the fic I'm proudest of.

Coulda been Contenders?
Lesser Stars as worse because it was just me rambling without destination, and the One Eyed Man as best, though nobody except me seems to like it.

Strengths
Writing prettily, on occasions. Characterization but on a very narrow basis (I either get a character, or I don't.)

Weaknesses?
Plot! Writing porn. Writing anything very visual or cinematic. Characters I don't like. Finishing stories. Writing long stories with plot. Never quite bothered writing a story with setting development either.

Dirty Little Secrets?
Err... I don't know. I'm not big on secrets.

Happy 500th!
