Whether Yoshikata Amano should be classified as a mangaka in a wiki. I was saying he wasn't a mangaka, so he should be in an Artist category - which doesn't exist yet.

And now he's mocking me for being French. XD

Nope. It's not me you're arguing with, sorry.

Neil Gaiman

I get a Japan location on your IP address so I guess you're the same person as on the TV Tropes Wiki. But not really Neil Gaiman?

But Neil is in Japan right now, isn't he?

...this is becoming quite strange.

that's why people at the wiki believed it was the real Neil. But that cryptic message makes me doubt it (more) ^_^

Wow! I would think that would seem very surreal.

(I'm leaning towards your side of the argument, by the way--I'd categorize Amano as an artist/illustrator/designer. For him to be a mangaka, wouldn't he have to actually, er, draw a manga?)

Yes, well. He did work in animation at the very least.

You must open the Mangaka discussion.

Totally surreal. O_o

The Internets are surely strange today o_O

Why would the real Neil lurk and/or edit at TV Tropes? He's out there doing cooler things and meeting cool people and cuddling cool animals. I say it's a Gaiman fanboy sockpuppeting.

"I'm done with uploading my photos at GHIBLI with Hayao Miyazaki on my blog. What should I do now? Of course, I'll troll at a discussion page at a wiki, signed with my real name!" <- Yeah, totally picturing Neil by that logic.

I've seen people calling themselves with mangaka names (for instance, Mokona Apapa) at message boards. This is why it's not so surprising to me.

XD Funny. Though I agree he's not a mangaka. He would be a Comic Illustrator/Artist.

Donc les mangaka ne sont pas des artistes ?

:P

"les classifications c'est tout des conneries !"

(so mangakas are not artists ? :P
"Classifications are bullshit")

You're using an if/then absolute statement. I never said mangaka aren't artists (tho some of them I wouldn't consider as such for their quality.), I only said //he// isn't. Anyone who is an artist isn't a mangaka either. In this world, classifications are essential in everyday life, hence etrangere having an argument with "Neil Gaiman". =P

Sorry, it was a general phrase, not a response to your specific comment. I miss the rigth "answer" button.

But I maintain classifications are bullshit :P
