The Farm
I liked Roslin saying "I'm going to play the religious card" then having to deal with more than she thought she would have to, in religious matters.

Onto Kara. Well, as far as love interest go, that was fas. You go, girl! If you want to continue bagging my list of pretties anytime you want, take your pick XD as far as personalities go, I'll keep waiting for Anders to show one before I say whether I like him or not (I therefore assume he'll be back), the writers of the show, however, didn't win any point by failing to show him be concerned by Shu-Shuan as well as Starbuck. A single mention or worries would have sufficed. This show has quite the skanky race issues.

So, BSG has gone all X-Files on us. It's efficiently creepy, if quite cheesy. I guess it makes sense with the other things we know of the Cylons. And all we need is love. Hmmm. I assume that's not quite simple and got to do with the red light spine thingie.

It's hard not to be suspicious of Sharon when she comes suddenly back oh-so-conveniently.

Otherwise I like the new Cylon. Ways to recognize a Cylon : they like to make references to Starbuck's abused past. And to call her special. XD

And that's it for the separate plotlines, finally!

Home 1&2
It's nice to see Adama's able to realise he was an idiot. The scene with him crying at the morgue was beautiful (and creepy, second scene with a dead Cylon for him, will it become an habit?) but the ensuing angst was too much for me to feel sympathy for him. Yay to Dee for laying the smackdown ^_^

Zarek isn't very good at conspiracy. Or he's just very cheesy at them, but I still like him. Zarek/Lee vibe intensifies, yay (what is it with me and cross gen pairings in this show?).

I'm not the biggest fan of the Adama-Lee relationship, but even I found that reunion pretty emotional.

After X-Files, Stargate. love that we have no idea how they left Earth back for Kobol and it's straight to the ship and everything's fixed and cool between the family now XD I'm quite ashamed to say I hadn't at all related the colonies' names to astrological signs. That's kind of interesting. Also kind of wondering... if Lee's Apollo, and Adama's Zeus, does that Starbuck Artemis? XD Lee/Kara, like twincest in way.

Speaking of which, the writers are quite the Ship Tease. It's rather fun to watch, and the actors do have a great chemistry. It's not quite something i'll OTP over, but I do like the dimension it brings to the show so far.

I'm starting to like (this) Sharon, she's got guts. Helo is too big a boyscout to hate, but my is he naive.

Six in Starbuck makeover is WAY HOT! XD So that was the way to make me think she be sexy. Enjoyed this little mindfuck with Baltar a lot. Six' method of reproduction however remain confusing XD but at least there's only one baby out there, I'm relieved.

Final Cut
I like this kind episode, always an opportunity to make some interesting meta bits and I liked the shedding light onto minor characters. So this is Kat without a helmet, she's HOT. Gaeta smoking and not liking it and the tatoo was hilarious and hot. And adorable ♥ and it's nice to have a little backstory for all of them.

The blonde journalist is hot and interest. I thought she had some interesting chemistry with Starbuck. I'm glad she's a Cylon, that means we'll see her again ^_^

I really liked Kara suddenly quoting poetry at Lee. And wanting to be suspect for threatening Tigh. I want a scene with those two together again, damnit. They bicker so wondrously.

I may have to forgive the writers the amount of naked Six fanservice since they provide the naked Lee fanservice...

Poor poor Gaius. Deprived of camera glory. XD

Flight of the Phoenix

After X-Files and Stargate, Cronenberg! Never mind that this has no sense with what we know of Cylon biology so far, it was a pretty image.

Much love for the Chief and the ship building. That part of the story was really well made and touching (and for once, not laying it too thick).

Gaeta being angry was nice to see as well. I want a Gaeta centric episode. Tell me there'll be one.

Pegasus

I'm starting to see what you mean about rooting for the Cylon, novin_ha.

Pretty interesting twist, I do wonder how they'll deal with the storyline and what kind of partial or total reset we'll get.

I don't think we see any women aboard the Pegasus beyond Cain herself, do we?

Roslin seems strangely passive about Cain's taking over. Maybe that has to do with the latest cancer news, hard to lead an insurrection when you know you have only a few weeks to live.

I love that kind of moments, when someone exterior from the storyline makes a quick recap of events on the series so far, either to be amazed, doubtful or very much not impressed as in this case XD Quite the level of insubordination of this ship.

They really went for the guts with the rape themes. Not unexpectedly so (I liked the little way they had talked about the objectification of Cylons previously, like Six's dislike of the word "Toaster"), and an interesting counterpart to The Farm... then again, I'm not sure if I trust them with handling those issues.

I liked that Six was so viscerally shocked by the other Six' state.

Best for last. ♥ ♥ ♥ Baltar. And they call Zuko an Anti-Villain! Such a fascinating character. I love how all the moments that build him as a more determined, stronger, even better person in a way are all moments where he's walks further on the road of villainy. I get a feeling he's going to be a great "no good deeds go unpunished" character. I was quite surprised to hear him say he loved Six. I didn't think he did.

The other women on Pegasus really come out of the woodwork on Razor. I don't know, but I think it's pretty safe to watch once you've seen Resurrection Ship, Pt. 2.

There's this neat mental trick in our society where a male/female mix like BSG's is generally seen as being "equal", while a mix that is actually 50/50 is seen as being predominantly female. I can't cite the social psychology research to back it up, but I ran across it in one of my classes.

Razor slots in between The Captain's Hand (Season 2, Ep 17) and Downloaded (Ep 18). I think watching it there is a good idea, if possible, but if you leave it until later it's not a problem.

A Gaeta-centric episode? No, but he does play a prominent role in some forthcoming storylines. That's about all you're going to get without being spoiled ;-)

Oh man, "Pegasus" and the 3 episodes after it are definitely some of the best parts of the series, in my opinion. I think they do a pretty good job with their handling of the rape themes, but your mileage may, of course vary.

Also: these posts of yours are filling me with an intense desire to rewatch the whole series before season 4 kicks off in a few weeks, even if that's totally not what I should be doing with my time.

Having watched a bit further ahead now, I'm right in the middle of a bunch of BAD EPISODES ;_; *woes* but Resurection Ship 1&2 were indeed very good, and I like the other Six.

I guess it's not so much that the rape themes were badly handled that the gender roles handling in correlation with the rape themes is a bit... bah.

That's what's fun with posts like these XD
