I be wisdom toothless. My mouth's all numb.

It went relatively well, apart from the part where dentist was always saying "Don't panick!" "Don't panick!" when I was like "I'm not panicking, I was just informing you that I am in pain right now. In a non panicky way."

So, is it just me or are we giving this whole ridiculous Open Source Boob project more attention than it deserves? I mean, the whole part where there's essays kindly (or more acurately righteously angrily) detailing why it is so wrong instead of just mocking the WTF-ness of it... wobble worthy. Like, it actually requires explanation?

AFAIC if people want to indulge in free boobs (or other part) groping party, more power to them! But a public arena like a convention of SFF/anime/whataveyou is not the place for it. Well, not unless it was the Boobicon, or something.

One summary of the whole deal, I think it's probably also on Fandom_Wank. Basically a group of people at Penguincon started an impromptu "May I ask to touch your breast" session, and are framing it as a sex-positive empowering thing, which was apparently relatively successul (!) and included instauring buttons with "YES you may" (ask me), or "NO you may not" (ask me) for women to wear. They're so happy with it they'd like for the whole deal to be more widespread at SFF cons or something. Honestly I haven't followed the whole ramification past the O_O WTF? first impression. - Lots of people in LJ and other blogs are now giving their opinion on it, mostly to say HELL NO!

What happened to basic human rights? And since when is it acceptable in any way to sexually harass women? *stares*

I think it's okay to ask so long as "Fuck off, pervert" is an acceptable answer. It's not empowerment if you're only allowed to say yes, any more than it was when we were only allowed to say no. Choice is key.

Unless I'm mistaken, the idea was to do this at a con. A fan convention is hardly the place for women to get groped or sexual freedom/empowerment.

It's being wanked on journalfen in two places, but not fandom_wank. The first post is in unfunnybusiness, where it's the biggest thing to ever hit that community. The second is in otf_wank, where it is just average for that community, possibly because the otf_wank post links back to the unfunnybusiness one.

I just noticed--Penguicon? That just happened in Troy, Michigan, not 40 miles away from where I live! Who ever said that Michigan was a boring place?
