Comment on this post and I will choose seven interests from your profile. You will then explain what they mean and why you are interested in them. Post this along with your answers in your own journal so that others can play along.
I got asked :
bitextuality: you know, I kinda wish I'd remember what bitextuality was. It was something cool and meta like being able to read the text both way, but I don't remember what it really was in details >_>;; help please?
cult of ecstasy: the cult of extasy is a splat from White Wolf's game Mage: the Ascension which is my favourite RPG of the whole world for being so awesome. It's a urban fantasy game where you play mages (duh), with a very flexible magical system and where your magic is based upon paradigms such as beliefs, technology, complicated hermetic rituals or martial art (amongs other things). It can be very fun and deep game at moments, borrowing from a lot of philosophical concept. The CoX is the group of mage who work magic through Extatic rituals, from stuff related to pain to sexual pleasure, drugs (& rock'n'roll!) but also some more sedated things. They've got this focus on utter freedom and perception/experimenting things to see what reality really is which I really dig, and they think that joy is the highest and most important emotion (which I entirely agree with).
sku: Shoujo Kakumei Utena aka Revolutionary Girl Utena, an anime which involves fucked up fairy tales, feminism, surrealism, crack, sibling incest, femslash, maleslash, minfucks, red cars shaped like a penis, more phallic and yonic symbols than your mind can hold, a greek chorus, elevators of doom and freudian analysis, and roses. Lots, lots, lots of roses. Also known as the story of the girl who was once saved by a prince and decided she wanted to become a prince as well, even though she was a girl. A must watch.
splitting hair: As a Virgo I'm often told that one of my flaw is a tendancy to want analyse things so thinly it's equivalent to want to split a hair. I like nuances and very, very thing analysis.
syncretism: I'm endless fascinated by religions and the way they interact with each others and mix and match.
thinking too much: The expression comes from All Things Philosophical on BtVS & AtS website and forum which I used to hang out on once upon a time. A good expression IMHO, and one that fits me :) Although I haven't gone into a complex symbolical/mythological analysis of any series in too long a time...
writers are liars mdear: quote from Neil Gaiman's The Sandman. A cool one :) Never trust a writer!
