I like Jaime/Brienne a lot in theory, in that they're *good* for each other... but I actually enjoy reading fanfic about it a lot less than Jaime/Cersei or Jaime/Arthur or the sadly rare Jaime/Loras, even when the Jaime/Brienne is really well written. I don't know if it's because I subconsciously realize the doomedness of this ship (from the "Jaime dies heroically!" syndrome, most likely) and thus avoid it, or if it's *too* healthy for me to enjoy. *is a sick bastard, obviously :P*)

Date: 22 July 2008 09:42 pm (UTC)I think the issue is also that Jaime/Brienne is basically very hard to write well, and even the good writers in fandom don't write it a lot :D and the sick bastard syndrome too :)
