Also, what exactly would you put behind "unhealthy"? Is there some kinds of unhealthy which you are willing to ship and others which you draw the lines at (which ones, and why)? Don't hesitate to give some examples!

ETA: this is mostly due to the fact that some of the comments on this post by meganbmoore made me wonder if I was the only one.

I think my biggest disagreement with what you said is (1) because I think even if insane aren't able to have a romantic relationship, that doesn't mean they never get horny. I wholly agree with your (2) and (3) but I think that's part of what makes the pairing "fun" (that is to say, I like reading dark fics which question themes like consent, among other things)

I've no idea what you mean by "serious" ship.

That's true, insane people can be interested in people, but consider this: she has everything about the Reavers, rapists, murderers, and self-mutilators in her head. In her case, I think she has to get the images and feelings associated with that out before there will be room for other things.

By "serious," I mean a ship that you have an investment in and follow, and feelthe need to defend.

What you say makes me think of that gorgeous fanvid :) And again, from a dark fic PoV, the fact that she has those images and associations in her head doesn't necessarily make it impossible, just not likely to work out cheerfully.
