I think it'll take getting used to it, for most. It's not like the previous one was pretty either. They're both kinda functional, and the new one is slightly more functional.

When I look in my profile at communities I belong to vs communities I watch, the ones I watch are in bold. As compared to how it was, what's bold now is only slightly thicker than what used to be "normal."

Oh, so that's it. Thanks! I knew it was different, but I didn't know how. I really think that LJ should have tested the page with different computers and settings...I really can't look at it the way it is now. It's not as if I've got any interesting settings, either. (They did not do the research...)

On some computers, the color change will be barely noticable, if at all (on my normal work computer, the color settings are pretty dark, so I doubt I'll notice it, bt this computer's setting ae bright nough that it's hard to look at. On my laptop and home computer, I suspect it'll be somewhere in between.

Ah. I just noticed one of the comments below. It's probably the bright blue/white that's doing it. Sigh. But maybe it'd still look better with a different default text.

Yep! I mean it's better organized and you can collapse sections that you don't care for... I don't know how the colors/fonts changed... It looks the exact same to me as the old one, and i did comparisons when i first switched to the new profile. I think i gave them some feedback...

I think the appropriateness of the blue is based on computer color settings. On this computer, its almost blindingly bight.

I checked my profile when I got on this computer and noticed the colors were brighter than usual (I hate this computer and want them to get mine fixed!) and then looked again whn I saw the outcry. I suspect it isn't as noticable wih darke color settings, but brightr settings make the color too much.

I like that they put stuff like the links to tags, memories, and infos about the account at the top, I find that very useful. Sometimes it was very difficult to find the tag list in journals who didn't create a link for it intentionally, now I'll know where to go.

My main gripe with it is that I **99%** of the time use the User Info page to see othr people's friends and communities. Whcih is now way, way, way down the page, with a lot *more* useless gibberish at the top.

If we could move the segments around, that would be good (I don't do AIM and that stuff, so mine's all empty at the top anyway). I don't care about font; I care that what was easy for me to use became harder. Shoot me. I'm lazy *g*
