Five top answers con't

rebbe
1. The Beach. The whole of it. Especially the volley ball game, the "you're so sharp" attempt at flirting, and of course "my mother thought I was a psycho! she was right of course, but that still hurt"
2. Crazy-zula with Ursa in the mirror. I love mirror scene.
3. Explaining to Zuko why she'd told Ozai he had killed the Avatar - and doing so all flirty.
4. Day of the Black Sun, fighting without fire bending, taunting and still winning.
5. Intimidating the Dai Li agents into submission. Scary and exhilariting indeed XD
Tope five too-shojo-to-be-good-for-your-health manga you'd recommend for

1. Please Save My Earth - I made a review recently after rereading it, definitly one of my favourite guilty pleasure shoujo. The melodrama, it still gets to me!
2. Basara - Melodrama AND epic, yay! too bad I hate the art style, but the storyline makes up for it.
3. Skip Beat - due to extremely awesome protagonist, and a story that's focussed on her being awesome first, and on romance second. Quite the mood lifter.
4. Lovely Complex - Best comedy romance currently on the market.
5. Mille et une Nuits - mostly because I really love the art style, soooo pretty. Rather fond of the stories, too, and the stories within stories gimmick.

which is an evil, evil question because only five fictional characters? In the entire world? argh
1. Himemiya Anthy (Revolutionary Girl Utena) - fascinating character, very ambiguous one and at the heart of a fabulous story
2. Aeryn Sun (Farscape) - one of my favourite female warrior type character out there
3. Xelloss (Slayers) - much as a love the character type, and he's an excellent, endlessly amusing one, I think it's the voice that clinches it.
4. Miles Vorkosigan (Vorkosigan series) - there's a reason I keep reading those books, and one of them is how utterly comfortable I find myself in this guy's head, okay?
5. Jaime Lannister (ASOIAF) - cocky arrogant bastard
Five favorite ASoIaF fan art for

That's a difficult question because I sometimes save fanart i like, but not always, and it's also not something I always pay a lot of attention to, and I'm posting things here I won't be able to credit properly. Oh, and some might actually be official art and I forgot about that.
1.
There's a reason I iconised it! I love this drawing style, soft, delicate, subtle and melancholy ♥
2.
On account of being a gorgeous picture and a great vision of Brienne.
3.
All the pictures by this artists are great, love the colouring and drawing style. I love this one best because it really gets the point across. Very expressive and fierce.
4.
Mostly because most pics of Cersei I've seen are totally wrong, showing her like a sex kitten and totally missing in term of representing her personality. This one's really got Cersei's haughtiness and unhappiness as well as beauty.
5.
Love the mucha-like design and the twirls of the hair, very pretty composition.
Bonus 6.

Date: 19 November 2008 10:06 pm (UTC)Completely random, I don't like Jaime as a character, but somehow I ship him with Payne (Paine?). In my head!canon the old knight has the hots for him. That's all.

Date: 19 November 2008 10:13 pm (UTC)*sighs* I miss Cersei when she was scary and badass in GoT. I really hated her in FFC, and not even in that love to hate way. BTW that author made several other comics which are all very amusing, you probably can find them using the name
lol actually Jaime/Ilyn Payne is also one of my crack pairing, on account of how hilarious their interaction was in FFC. 'You talk too much' XD
And, yes, I could see that.

Date: 19 November 2008 10:24 pm (UTC)Totally with you on that. What they did with her in FFC was plain awful. It was the 'straw-woman' villain, or something I can't find the words for. XD Thank you for the information about the comics! I will look for them.
Heh. It's not crack until proved... that it is. :/

no subject
Date: 19 November 2008 11:43 pm (UTC)Sure! I've read a lot of manga I never post about. Especially silly shoujo.

Date: 19 November 2008 11:55 pm (UTC)I'm open for convincing, however. XP
XP YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED. Silly shoujo needs more good publicity. :O

Date: 20 November 2008 12:01 am (UTC)LOL but I'm ashamed of reading it! Well, not Lovecom which is actually adorable, but, like, there's this ridiculous manga called Othello, which has random flip personnality girl an is really not good, yet I love it because everytime our doormat of a protagonist girl shifts personality and starts kicking the ass of the people who abused her it's so viscerally good. Yet it's so bad - I'm ashamed I spend money in this stuff XDDD

Date: 20 November 2008 12:54 pm (UTC)I'm really interested that you list Aeryn Sun as your second fav character -- what is it, when you say female warrior type -- what is it that makes her so great? I'm fascinated. :)

Date: 20 November 2008 04:06 pm (UTC)The webcomic makes even more sense when you know Sansa is often called stupid in the fandom, and blamed for Ned's fate, which the webcomic makes a great point at highlighting the flaw of logic XD

Date: 20 November 2008 06:46 pm (UTC)Also, I may have to check out ASoIAF; everything I've heard about it sounds really good so far. (plus the first fanart you posted is really pretty.)

Date: 20 November 2008 10:28 pm (UTC)ASOIAF is excellent - if not best - in the epic fantasy realm. It's got brilliant characterisation and plotting, but is very grim. So yeah, you should read it :)
