I was surprised by how private you are about your personal life. Not that it's a bad thing in any way, I guess I'm just used to thinking of people who keep LJ's as exhibitionists (like me :)

I was also (and I hope I'm not overstepping my bounds here) surprised that you sometimes find your self-confidence MIA, as you put it. Because you come across as such an intelligent, thoughtful, well-read, articulate person, and are so fearless and bold in your arguments (downright Martellish, now that I think about it!), and are overall such a class act... I realize human psychology doesn't work that way, but it should, dammit -- awesome people should always be confident that they're awesome! :)

Also, I continue to be occasionally surprised that you've read/seen pretty much whatever I happen to be reading/watching (and then some!) though you'd think I would have gotten used to this by now.

I can't think of any strong surprise, but your icon reminded me of something. I have no idea why, but I never expected you to get into Avatar -which is odd considering the characters are awesome. It was a GOOD surprise, however.
