I also use fantasy races for categorizing people (Dwarf, Hobbit, Elf, Wizard), and, of late, ASOIAF houses.

And I think I've figured out a little better what I meant by "paladin without the religious stuff" for you -- I think another way of saying that would be "Righteous Warrior" -- i.e. someone who fights not because she enjoys fighting but for an important cause. (The insights one gets from re-reading Dzur ;)

I'm a Wizard ;) But if that's cheating because they're not actually a race, then I'm probably a Dwarf (and that's what I got sorted as, unsurprisingly, over at the now-pretty-much-defunct Middle-Earth sorting comm).

I had to think about you for a while -- none of the major ones I usually think of seem to fit. I think you are a sprite of some kind -- generally private and, not reclusive in a bad sense but, like, outside the day-to-day world, and someone that can be whimsical, wise, or dangerous in rapid succession. (I generally find it harder to categorize people I know through online interaction, like, it doesn't come naturally to me, while RL categorization does -- I think it's because we see a sort of mosaic view, which makes it more difficult to make generalizations :)
