Two of those are excellent. Not to mention the classic le Roi et l'Oiseau that was rereleased a few years ago.

When it was released I was too annoyed at the blatant King Leo rip off (which I did watch as a kid) to even consider watching it. Have yet to see/hear anything to make me change my mind, even had I any interest in watching old Disney movies right now.

If you really like Satoshi Kon, I definitely recommend getting around to watching Magnetic Rose sometime; I bought the DVD that had it as part of a trilogy. Definitely a highly memorable piece, very haunting. :)

It's a program that allows you to call up anyone in the world and chat with them. I believe it's $20 per month to use it to call mobiles, but if you stick to the program and chat with those who already have it, it's free. :)

Yeah, I'm a little annoyed at how US-centric the list is. Condensing every other country's (except Japan, obviously) contributions to the format into a single ten-item list is kind of short-sighted and insulting.

Wow, you hated My Neighbor Totoro? I don't think I've ever seen that before. XD Not that I'm arguing that you shouldn't, of course, but it seems to be everyone's darling.

yes, insulting, the first time I saw the meme I was so pissed off grrrr

My Neighbor Totoro, it's not so much that I hated it that I was very bored by it and never bothered finishing watching it. It's... kind of a contrast with every other Miyazaki movies I've seen ^^

Seriously--even if whoever put this together doesn't know much about animation from other countries, it'd take them, what, five minutes to hit Google and find some famous titles? Wiki even has some country-specific articles on animation history!

Ahh, got it. I haven't seen Totoro in ages, but I do remember it feeling a lot slower than other Miyazaki movies, so I can understand. :D

Happy Passover!

And you didn't see "Ratatouille"? Well, I can see how you could be annoyed at the fake French accent (unless you'd watch it dubbed maybe), but it was a feel-good animated movie for n00bs like myself. :-)

thank you!!

I tend to avoid 3D/Pixar movies. Every time I watch one because the hype is so big and everyone say it's great, I get disappointed by the lack of awesome. Toy Story and Kung Fu Panda I found pretty boring, and only the Incredibles was somewhat fun to watch, but still not what I would have called great.
