Top 5 Magneto moments (any medium)
I'm not really sure I've read enough stuff yet to really answer this, but... (also, saying "any medium" opens you up to fanfics. You've been warned).
1. the "A Fire in the Night" story
2. this chapter from Fear the Rest by [personal profile] penknife
3. this fic.
4. that short story from Nation X
5. The Trial of Magneto... in 30 Seconds

Top 5 des meilleures adaptations d'histoires mythologiques.
aka Top 5 of the best adaptations of mythological stories.
1. Stuff by Giraudoux. Because if I started listing them individually, they'd take over all the top five.
2. Antigone by Anouilh
3. Lord of Light by Zelazny
4. The Palace of Illusions by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni
5. Vellum by Hal Duncan

Top Five Manga/Anime series
1) Gunnm, aka Battle Angel Alita, is the original manga series that made me a fan of the genre
2) Tokyo Babylon is still very much one of my top anime/manga of all time.
3) Mushishi, the anime series, is a sublime jewel
4) Revolutionary Girl Utena, the anime series, is such a deep, awesome work
5) Emma is a great manga work, with some of the most gorgeous drawings ever
Though there are so many great works I'm not listing in a mere top five *siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiighs*

I have no objections whatsover to fanfic being included! And the post-X3 Erik in Haifa fic was gorgeous -- thank you so much for the link!

Also, yay, Lord of Light! It's an idea that I never thought would work as effectively as it does.

I have not read The Palace of Illusions, but considering some of the others on that list, it looks like I need to take care of that very soon.

The review I made of it when i read it:
"This is a take on the Mahabharata through the women's eyes, and in particular Draupadi who married five husbands and was the cause of the war that put an end to the third age of man.
Knowing next to nothing about Hindu mythology, I can't really provide much of a commentary on what kind of spin it gives to the original material; but a a story I can say I really, really loved it. From the beautiful and woven writing to the characters and the stories within stories storytelling and the drama of the war and the texture of the world. I was swept in and mesmerised and loved every minutes of it."

That's one way of putting it :)

I like it, but it's definitely something different.

yeah, I also like it, as a fun, rather wild and over the top thing, but not really in connection to the original series ;)
