I forget how I hit upon it originally -- possibly reading the Vor Game not long after I'd watched Firefly -- but it hit me as the perfect pairing for both of them, and, yeah. (I guess I haven't been raving as much about it lately, though, heh.)
Vi!
Right THERE for the trickster OT3 (if Hermes is busy on that day, Ulysses can join if he gives Penelope the play-by-play). (that and Jun/Faith: I'll be in my bunk.) Also right there for Alec/Pel; it may not help Alec's suicidal tendencies in the long run, but the machinations and snark would be delightful.
Also damn, now I want to read so many of these. River/Aziraphale. Sethra/Agnes. Aunt Wu/Noish Pa. Jet/Huntress, if only because I'm not sure I see them that way - I think I see her as a whole lot less Chaotic.
if Hermes is busy on that day, Ulysses can join if he gives Penelope the play-by-play lol. Penepole must get a whole lot of play by plays.
Also right there for Alec/Pel; it may not help Alec's suicidal tendencies in the long run, but the machinations and snark would be delightful. Yeah this one is definitly for the mindfuck/political machinations play (does political machination play count as a kink?)
Jet/Huntress, if only because I'm not sure I see them that way - I think I see her as a whole lot less Chaotic. That's what could make it fun - she's usually the chaotic one of the group, how would she react in a position of having to deal with someone even more rash&bad tempered than her, but one with sympathetic circumstances, who she might want to try to temper down? Plus, Jet has this whole acrobaticness hotness that makes him like a dark!version of Dick ;p
...I've just realized I'm imagining Penelope as a proto Oracle!Babs. It's because of the weaving, but I'm not sure how it works symbolically.
does political machination play count as a kink? If it doesn't I don't know what does. And narrative kink as well. *waves Pel-fan and Aramis-fan flags*
The thing with Huntress is that I see her as being Lawful (D&D-speaking, I mean), just obeying different Laws, at least as she begins. The Law she follows isn't that posited by the American legal system, it's more the rules of the mafia, but it's still a Law. She clearly has an order in mind, even if her idea of what that order is doesn't fit with what the others respect. As she works more and more in Gotham, though, she gets further and further away from her original mindset, and basically I'd say that then she becomes more Chaotic. And Jet is totally the local Bat. He got mixed up in killing people, sure, but the troubled-but-cute, watched-my-parents-get-killed-when-I-was-eight, Badass Normal thing = Bat. The unholay alternate universe spawn/mix of Dick and Helena and Bruce and Jason. I don't know how rash I'd call Jet, though. That didn't start before he realized he was off the reservation and needed to redeem himself, at least.
It's because of the weaving, but I'm not sure how it works symbolically. Interesting. Do you see Oracle!Babs as spider-like then? (it's an obvious metaphor for computer network mastermind type, though I don't remember ever seeing one in the comics)
*waves Pel-fan and Aramis-fan flags* *salutes flag*

LOL yeah, Jet definitly have that sort of vibe. Actually one of the big plotty fic I once had the idea but would never write because too complicated and plotty for Avatar was all about having half the cast run around as masked vigilantes; between Jet, the Blue Spirit, Toph's Blind Bandit persona and Katara as the Painted Lady, the show provides a lot of fodder for that sort of stuf (though I was thinking more Zorro than Batman, but well :))

I don't know how rash I'd call Jet, though. That didn't start before he realized he was off the reservation and needed to redeem himself, at least. I think Jet definitely has some hot headedness about him, but yeah, he didn't become totally desperate until he started losing it; but he started losing it.
Do you see Oracle!Babs as spider-like then? Hell. Yes. Graysoncam comes to mind. And Tim, as well, though he's not the same type (Tim's spideriness is more feminine than Babs, if only because Babs is much more removed from what she manipulates than he is).
Zuko would sign so hard on the Zorro line, no Blue Spirit required, I'm almost pained for him. The Blue Spirit is more resentful than Zuko, but I have no doubt that poor Earth peasant would view him that way. (They've got both Robin Hood and Zorro, how fair is that?) I'd see more the Runaway than the Blind Bandit for Toph, but maybe that's just because I don't really get what the Blind Bandit is about and how it'd work in that troupe. (Suki could also cameo.)
Jet may be hot-headed, but before the I'm-a-new-man thing, his plan to destroy the village was well thought-out, if morally bankrupt. (It's like when Zuko hangs with people, he infects them with his lack of forethought. Except for Azula, of course.)
Zuko would sign so hard on the Zorro line yeap. Zuko was the one in the Zorro position.
(They've got both Robin Hood and Zorro, how fair is that?) *grins*
I'd see more the Runaway than the Blind Bandit for Toph, but maybe that's just because I don't really get what the Blind Bandit is about and how it'd work in that troupe. Well the set up for the story is that Aang as never found, the Fire Nation managed taking control of all big Earth Nation cities with the comet's help, but there's still a lot of unrest. So Toph never met the gang and never ran away. So she also has to deal with the dual life of delicate daughter of a wealthy family who is in good standing even under the Fire Nation rule versus what she wants to do with herself: fighting. I admit, Blind Bandit doesn't seem to have a whole lot in it symbolic wise; hadn't really decided what would make her want to fight (besides the obvious).
Suki and most other similar characters would all be part of the White Lotus group of rebel - along with Sokka, Katara and Jet and his own freedom fighter. They don't all get masked persona though :3
