Anime of summer 11

This ended up a pretty good season overall.

N°6 had a disapointing ending, and thoroughly messy plot, but I still mostly loved it. (yeap, this is the only anime I ended up doing a full scale review).

Tiger & Bunny continued being a very solidly entertaining show with heartwarming characterisation despite weaknesses in plotting (and especially having its finale somewhat undermined by all the hooks for the sequel).

Natsume Yuujinchou San was beautiful as always, with a little more plot focused episodes this season, but still filled with the wonderful bittersweet one exploration of loneliness and learning to move forward from it.

Mawaru Penguindrum is crackfully intriguing, surrealistically awesome, and endlessly keeping us on our toes.

Usagi Drops was delicately and comfortably sweet.

La Croisée dans un Labyrinthe Etranger was surprisingly good in a sugary sweet yet solidly endearing way, as well as beautiful to see.

I did end up dropping Ao no Exorcist when it started going its own independent way from the manga (despite not reading the manga) though, tell me if that was a mistake.


I don't expect to watch much next season. It's probably the worse, lacking in anything interesting season I've seen since I started watching anime regularly!! I expect I'll continue with Penguidrum of course, and Un Go may actually be worth bothering with. Errr, did I miss anything else?

Je regarde Kimi to Boku et la saison 2 de Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi. Les deux sont super choupis.

Je regarde Seai ichi aussi mais c'est vrament un guilty pleasure. Le taut de rapeyness est trèstrès haut.

Kimi to Boku, c'est le slice of life highschool avec des garçons plutot que des filles, c'est ça? Les échos que j'en ai eu m'avait donné l'impression que c'était un peu... apathetique voir antipathique en term de persos.

Ca dépend ce que tu entends par "apathétique". Oui, il ne se passe rien. Non, ce n'est pas ennuyeux, parce que c'est un peu style Ouran High School Host Club. C'est marrant, avec plein de fanservice BL (et c'est pas rapey).

oula, ça a l'air donc bcp plus marrant que je n'en avait été donné l'impression! Faudra au moins que je cheque le premier épisode alors.

Penguin Drum est vraiment très déconcertant, je suis d'accord avec toi, j'ai du mal même à décider si j'aime et ce que j'aime. Franchement très réussi de ce côté là il me met mal à l'aise tout en me faisant rire aux éclats. Là on a pas encore regardé l'épisode 13 mais j'en ressens quand même l'appel.

Ma femme et moi avons été très déçues par la non lesbiennitude de la fille aux anglaises ! Des anglaises ! Et elle est rousse ! Mais Yuri et toutes les scènes en shojo vision de Ringo sont excellentes.

Hmm...I'll have to try some of the anime you mentioned. I liked Tiger & Bunny, but No.6's ending just really killed the anime for me and made me think it was a waste of time.
