Am I the only one to find the whole burr87 sub-set of the whole Boldthrough kerfuffle deeply hilarious? I mean, for one, efw itself is obviously a nasty-funny, Fandom_Wank-like community that's rather hilarious and the mocking - while insensitive, misrepresenting & unprofessionnal - isn't extremely off the mark. And srlsly I seem to remember than during Part 1 of this LJ wank Fandom was the one insisting that burr87 came back to be a spokesperson. Maybe that's why he hates us. Maybe he really didn't like this job. XDDD

Oh, lastly, I made myself a JournalFen account and I should transfer my fanfics overthere. It's not perfect in terms of managements but I think that right now it's the one Journal I can actually trust a little bit not to go witchhunting happy.

Ultimately, I might keep on this journal for personnal life purpose but I'll probably put all fandom content somewhere else.

ETA : alighiera has just posted about the LJ Boldthrough story being on big German newspaper Der Spielgel. Woaw O_O;;

I wish they had TOS'ed someone for threatening the president, instead. That would have been very exciting, don't you think? Because a lot of people dislike our president and might say things about him, and no one would be confused about that the way they are about dirty cartoons of Harry Potter characters. (The "threatening the president" issue was one that burr86 mentioned in his clever little disquisition clarifying the terms of service.

LJ's already losing users, it seems. This latter trend won't help. Maybe that's why they care so little about us, because they can't wait to sell the baby to someone else. Honestly most of it makes no sense to me.

Do you think the Secret Service would threaten people for things that LJ would TOS you for, though? Part of the issue with the child pron thing has been that LJ has no clue about what's really considered child pornography or even obscenity. I don't think it's a real threat to the president if I say something like, "though I am a pacifist and non-violent, I wish I could inflict some measure of the pain and suffering Bush has caused other people on his physical person." Is it?

Efw is Not even like Fandom_Wank really, because they go one step further and mock flame wars so the irony and sarcasm is really lightweight and If someone actually has a Grievance or spite toward a particular type of person they aren't supposed to post there. Like Say I know I tend to be too Intense so I mock intensity to laugh at myself, but I bear me no ill feelings. The problem here is that burr86 does Actually seem to have a Grievance against a particular kind of person (the HP fan) since he mostly says things Against Hp fandom in Efw while the other members just are more general about things. The fact Is that Efw mock people precisely Like him who do have a grudge, which is Why the mod went down on him in the non-sexual, non-fun way. :}

I understand what you are Saying and I too am not angry at him, but I Was somewhat glad other people had no Scruples about telling him off because it Made me feel like now he would understand being Misrepresented better.

I tried to Do Journalfen but They never open the "Create Account" so for now I am in Insane Journal and GJ under This same name.

Oh Please if You ever see they Reopen the account creation please send me a little Message. I v. much want to have all my bases covered because You never know where Fandom will end up. I had been Lurking for a couple of yrs now (since the GoF movie) but only Now came out because Authors have been locking things Up and it Is v. difficult for Lurkers.
