Pairing for X/1999 is probably Subura/Seishiro, and I'm pretty sure Hokuto is a favorite character in that fandom.

Okay, which one? I just read these books for the first time and haven't read much fan fiction. I would guess Ivan/Byerly, because it really jumped out at me as an antagonistic pairing. Also because I think she paints Mark as too screwed up for Miles. Miles has the need to be the more screwed up one in a relationship...

I like Miles/Ekaterin too, and I would love to see fic with the other two pairings. I love it that there is a slash pairing that is canon--but of course, it's the good guy with a bad guy, so it doesn't exactly paint m/m relationships in the best light! I guess theoretically Miles/Bel is also a slash pairing. It's kind of a weird almost-a-pairing, isn't it?
