Faith arrives at the city at dusk. She can taste nothing but dust all the way to the back of her throat. But first, she drops the six zombie heads and two sandworms' tail to the sheriff's office to collect the bounty. Yeah, it was a rough trip, but at least it means she won't have any trouble drinking the best kind of whiskey.

Heads raise when she comes in the saloon, and she looks at them coldly, hand over her silver gun, and no one says anything. Good, she's not in the mood for the fight. She sees a familiar face tricking idiots out of their gold with card games, Raynes his name is, but Raynes' too sly to have been caught cheating so there's no money on his head and she doesn't bother. She may be the Slayer but you don't expect her to do it for free, now, do you?

She finishes her drink and waits for the sun to set and here they come, right on time. Vampires, always predictable. Perhaps they didn't know she was there, or perhaps they did and wanted to challenge her. One kick to the table, and she's behind cover, shooting so quickly the gun hums under her hand, and ash dances inside the room as each silver bullet touch them. Now, that's life.
