My mood's been doing this yo-yo thing a lot lately. It's very tiring.

Otherwise I keep forgetting to post poetry on tuesday. But why should I restrain myself to tuesdays?

Paul Eluard

Now is that not more cheerful?

And because it's you I give you an English translation.

Our life you made it a landslide has buried it
dawn of a city a beautiful morning in May
on which the earth has closed its fist again
dawn in me seventeen years ever brighter
and death enters me as if into a mill

Our life you said so happy to live
and to give life to what we loved
but death broke the balance of time
Death who comes death who goes death lived
Death visible eats and drinks at my cost

Death visible Nusch invisible and harder
than hunger and thirst to my exhausted body
mask of snow on the earth and under the earth
fountain of tears in the night blind man's mask
my past dissolves I give way to silence

I like your poetry days. It's basically all the French I ever see (well, except for mandatory bilingual packaging) and it's fun to see how much I get right/wrong.

I'm glad to be of us :D

I am very ashamed that I cannot read poetry in French. That I still cannot read poetry in French, although I vowed I would learn to when I bought Baudelaire years ago.

Poetry should not be restricted to any day of the week. It is known.
