Ugh, sorry about that. I can't follow that logic, not even remotely (well, I guess I can understand the "not a decent human being" argument, though I think it's stupid...) I left Ran's board ages ago (like... I was on from 2001-2003, I think?) partly over that sort of crap being thrown about.
2001 is where I got in Ran's Board, and part of the reason I'm still there it's because it's my oldest fandom and one I've still friends in, and which I regularly meet IRL. Despite the occasional stupidity and general wankiness, I'm too attached to it.
Still Curtana. When I got a title there, it was 'Queen of Thorns' ;) I was most active in 2001-early 2002 (I might have joined as early as 2000, I can't remember now) then dwindled later in 2002 when I was working instead of being in school (so had less time) and also I had joined LJ in Feb. 2002 and so what online time I had was being spent there. I made an effort to go back to Ran's board in 2003 because, like you say, it was my first online home and I liked plenty of the people there, but I found it too frustrating, as it was bigger and there seemed to be a larger proportion of assholes than in the early days. Also, that was more or less the lowest lull between books, so people had little more to do than wank at each other, or so it seemed to me.
What's your nick there? I'm trying to figure out if I knew you then :)

I can understand the tiredness. I get tired of it regularly, it's very back and forth.
