All Star Superman
Okay, this is weird but mostly entertaining. Lovely art and fluid storytelling. But boy did I feel like a whole lot of references were flying high, high above my head.

Simone's run on Wonder Woman

Decent story, good characterisation, awesome action. Simone totally can tell epic stories and frequently pushed my FUCK YEAH! button by showing what a motherfucking badass Diana (and various other characters are). The stories themselves feel a bit uneven and were frequently a bit confusing, but they were events and action packed (especially in contrast with Rucka's slower pacing). Flip side, the antagonist were frequently much less interesting (and often a bit cringey) than in Rucka's run. Art was very good too.

Might I recommend Gail Simone's Secret Six, if you haven't already read it? She's much more in her element with that than with Wonder Woman, and her characters are hilarious, insane bad-asses.

Huzzah! Are you keeping up with her run on Birds of Prey? Cause that's quite good, too. I love the way she writes Black Canary.

That, too. Though I've found BoP a bit all over the place since its reboot. I love her Black Canary indeed! (and her Black Canary/Lady Shiva slashiness ♥)

Yeah, I kind of feel like she's testing the waters with that one, and seeing what they'll let her get away with. But her Dinah is wonderful, and a refreshing change from how poorly she was being written all through Blackest Night.

I promise this is the last comic I'm going to throw at you, but Carbon Grey? Just started, and it's amazing.

That's a bingo, I've never even heard of before. :) What's the pitch?

Okay, here's the summary:

There have always been three Sisters Grey, and they protect the Kaiser of Mitteleuropa. However in this generation, there are four Sisters Grey, as one of the births was twins. One of the twins is accused of killing the Kaiser and it snowballs from there.

Here's what I think:

The art is gorgeous. The Sisters Grey are intriguing. It's sexy without being exploitative. There are guns and airships and a Wolf General and crazy stylized violence, and it's basically everything that I wanted Sucker Punch to be.

Yeah, I usually wait until a series gets to five issues before I start pimping it, but Carbon Grey is awesome.
