salineaS.H.I.E.L.D. v1 & SHIELD Infinity
Now that's a compelling kind of pulp. Clock-punk and SCIENCE! and esoteric conspiracies and war of ideas in a very Mage Ascension way, how could I not love it? The storytelling is brilliant, the art and colouring gorgeous; I have no idea where he is going with it, but it's pretty riveting. Hickman confirms himself to be an excellent storyteller - though I'll bemoan how few female characters are.
Carbon Grey
This is absolutely gorgeous and I'm not sure I like it. I dunno, it's a smudge too exploitative for my taste, or it has a little bit of... putting too many cool images all together and try to make something of it? Too video-game-y? I dunno. Well, it's early to tell.
Thor, Straczynski's run
Very good. There's an excellent flow to the storytelling and the art is often wow-y. I like the set up and how it confronts the mundane with the mythic for fun results (though it's sometimes just a little bit too twee). Loki's machination are pretty delightful to see unfold, and the epic action is wonderfully epic when it happens.
Thor, Gillen's run
Very good as well, though I have a bit of a hard time separating it from Straczynski's run and the whole Siege extravaganza in my mind.
Thor, Fraction's run
Definite drop in quality, but still fun so far. (And damn Coipel's art is pretty *_*)
Also I'm feeling just a bit dizzy at difference in style of characterisation of characters between the three authors. Perhaps I shouldn't have read it all so fast.
Loki miniseries by Rodi & Ribic
I think my dislike of the art style makes it hard for me to properly enjoy this. It was definitely not bad, but at the same time I had a hard time really getting into it. I dunno.
(BtW I also read that whole Thor Disassembled storyline about Ragnarock before starting JMS's run. Not really sure what to think of it though, I lacked too much context).
